Girlfriend hates best friend because she is dating guy she almost went out with b4 me

I want to know if I am right for being pissed about this.

The situation is simple enough. Before me, my girlfriend and this guy had "something." He was in love with her and had been for a couple years. I know she had a thing for him, but I came along. Once I came along, things changed, and she was all about me(obviously).

Here we are four years later. Her best friend started dating this guy. Ever since, my girlfriend has hated her. The girl has no problem with my girlfriend, but my girlfriend can't stand her. She puts up away messages about her, etc.....high school crap.

Here's my thing. I say to her, why the hell do u care? She says it's the principle. The fact that her and this guy were great friends, almost went out, and then her best friend dates him. I ask her if she's jealous, she says no. She says it's "the principle" of the whole thing.

I got pissed. I said if she wants the kid, then go after him. She got mad at me, hung up the phone. We haven't talked for a couple of hours.

The question is, is she right? Does she have a right to be mad at her friend?

Or am I right? Questioning why she would care if her ex best friend went out with a guy she almost went out with.....when she has me....

okay.... switch it up a little.

lets say you have no feelings for your a girl you used to like (and never even dated), and 4 years later, youre in a serious relationship with someone else. your friend went out with this girl who you liked 4 YEARS AGO, and dont give a **** about now. would you be mad at your friend?

i really hope not. chances are you wouldnt give a flying ****, cause you have your girlfriend who you care about, and you could care less about the other ho.

obviously that is not the case with her.

So she considers you below this other guy, which is why she is pissed off. If she loved you, she wouldn't be angry that her friend got the guy she was really after.

She says its a "principle" but she couldn't explain the principle if you asked her. Right there she's playing you. She hangs up on you. She's playing you. She knows that if she treats you like this and you stick around you're her bitch.

If she liked the guy at some point theres no reason why she shouldn't be happy that her best friend is dating him. To me its sounds like she is still interested in the guy and is just waiting for the right opportunity to show up. She'd leave you in a second and give you some BS excuse. She's mad at her friend for taking any chance she may have had away from her.

There's no "principle" issue here. If she were happy with you she wouldn't care who some other guy dates.

The only other thing I can think of is that your GF and the other dude might have done alot more than what she is letting you know. Or they could still be and that's why she's so pissed at her best friend. Sorry to bring that up but it seemed pretty logical to me.

With me, I have a rule. I will not date or have sex with anyone that one of my friends has dated or had sex with.

Almost, doesn't count.

She either still has a thing for this guy, or there is something that either she isn't telling you, or you aren't telling us.

It does seem a bit unfair of her to get mad like that, but girls might have more emotional attachments to people than we do. Sure, we might tolerate our friend dating the girl we used to like, but if we ever really did have strong feelings for her, they couldn't have fully disappated and may still upset us. Women are more emotional so probably more strongly affected by this. Her friend just shouldn't cross that kind of line.

No details really....i'm kinda depressed right now...yea it's probably good for the future, but for now it sucks.

She said that she couldn't believe I would throw away 3 years because her friend went behind her back and I got mad because of that. She then said if I don't care about the relationship, neither does she.

She said i'm making a big mistake.....because she says 95 percent of the reason i'm breaking up with her is because she doesn't have sex with me as much as I want, and that i'm not going to get it as much as I "think" I am.

Oh well.

I've experienced something like that:

Two years ago I was madly in love with this girl.. But she was just interested in me as a friend bla bla bla.. you know the deal!

So after six months I'm finaly starting to get over it. And one night I have a party at my house and my best best friend and this girl starts to flirt. I was very drunk and was dealing with an other girl that night (no feeling involved), and my friend comes to ask me if its ok that hes going for that girl.. And of course I say "yeah.. go ahead".... Big misstake.. I was to drunk to make that disicion (sp?).. (later that night I puked my brains out).

So to make a long story short. My best friend and this girl get togehter (bf/gf).. And I pissed at both of them. One night at my friends house I saw them making out, so I made a nice whole through his door with my fist. I had told him several times that I didn't like what he was doing etc. But still he keept beeing with this girl.. I was jealous, but I still think my friend was an ******* to not respect me. We had a deal that no girl would ever come between us, and he **** all over that deal! After four months they broke up, I was happy and I told him I was glad it was over between them, and **** didn't have to be wird anymore becaouse of this.

Guess what.. 10 months later they get back togehter again! I can't belive this ****! I don't give a **** anymore, because I don't like that girl, shes still a friend, but shes to wird for me, and I've gotten more experience with girls and ****!

I think your gf thinks the same way as I do.. It just feels wird that your friend is with somebody you liked before. Couse you had a connection to that person in a special way, and then your friend is suddenly banging on that chick/guy...
