Self spotting equipment

I just bought the Sherm works self spotting system. So far so good. It was easy to install, worked like a champ for flat bench and close grip press. I didn't like the weights they supplied to anchor the bottom of the rop so tied a few 2.5's on. Anyone else ever use it or a product like it?

Looks too complicated. i just like to stick with good ol' free weight.

I attach it right to my olympic bar. I work out by myself and have been pinned to many times by the bar. Now when I fail I just release the handle. Still gotta climb out from under it, but it works.
Not complicated at all.
