OK, VERY odd but for some reason this time around my body has decided to hold a TON of water in my hams. It looks horrible so dealing with this along with all the other competition dieting crap is driving me nuts.
Someone suggested I may be over training legs, thus holding water there.
I'm tempted to skip leg day tomorrow (which would be the last time I hit them prior to competition 10/13).
Any suggestions? I start carb depleting tomorrow-which should help with the majority but I'm curious as to whether or not anyone agrees on just resting the legs this week...???

LOL, ok thanks guys.
Actually I upped my water today and flushed it all out. That mysterious "fat" you guys seem to think I had magically melted away over night.
My water intake was too low and I was holding water in my obviously over trained legs.
Glad I asked. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLwww.myspace.com/musclesorority

Wow Thats ODD!
More Water makes you tighter!! GO LAYNE!! Hahaha! Cardio will beat your legs up more than the weights will!
And i train my legs on the Monday before a show at about 80% intensity never going to failure, and then even hit them lightly on thurs with a circuit, just to get a pump and to get those last bits of carbs into the muscle before the carbs get really low at the end of the week.
Usually my highest day is monday and they slowly go down all the way into Friday, where I either start to carb up the late friday night with something small or just the day of the show, no reason to go much earlier unless you are an ecto or meso.

LOL, I am high CHO on monday, bottom out on weds and start loading up again on thursday! The Friday before my last show in KC was like a freak-fest of carbs. I was up to like 400, and Dr. Joe would come in the room and say "you look flat- think you can eat some more". LOL. To which of course the obvious answer is "yes captain, I can".

yeah, no kiddin!
Thanks for your input...that's EXACTLY what I planned on doing (curcuit Thursday).
You know how the emotional ups and downs of this sport are...add that to me being a woman and I was out of my mind during the original post. Never occurred to me that I didn't take in enough water. I'd been getting a minimum of 1.5 gallons a day but honestly didn't keep track Friday and Saturday. So Sunday during posing practice I almost hit the floor when I suddenly realized that I was holding in my hams. Abs looked great (and that's where I normally hold my water)...so how could this be?
After coming down off the mental roller coaster and realizing I needed more water, DUH, POOF! Tightness! I LOVE IT!
