Rowing after weights. Good or Bad Idea?
Hey guys. My gym recently put signs on the treadmills that state "walking only". Now, I use to run on the tread straight after doing bench-presses, flys etc. So my arms are pretty tired by then.
Now, because running is not allowed, I want to try my hand at rowing. Is it safe for me to row straight after weights? I think I might actually burn muscle if I do this, but not sure. So if you guys have any idea, please share.

Burn muscle? Sounds cool.
Just run anyway. Gyms have lots of rules that nobody obeys, like not talking on cell phones, reracking weights, etc.

No running? LOL. Unless it's Planet Fitness, the staff won't hassle you.

I think they actually might hassle me. The sign is on the middle of the treadmill, "In your face". Think they are pretty serious about it. Maybe I should just cycle after weights. Rowing is preferred though. Just scared that it would stop my upper body from growing.
And a few members have crapped me out when i run on the tread. I think if I continue doing it, I'm gonna step on someone's toes.

Wow, that's pretty ridiculous. Try cycling for a change, maybe some elliptical? The only reason I wouldn't suggest rowing is knowing how MY body would react after I had just finished frying my back with weights...I'd be too tired to keep good form and would end up using too much lower back.

It won't fry your gains. Rowing is tough and is a "power endurance sport."
If you've just lifted a 30 or 40 minute short steady row on the erg is awesome for you, won't eff your gains. Steady state = "low stroke rating, low intesity."
Any cardio too too intense could fry your lean mass gains but that's really not a problem unless you decide to go for the marathon.
Honestly, If my gym told me not to run on the treadmill anymore (which sounds BS since treadmills are built to be run on), then i'd tell the owner of the place where to stick it and find a new gym.
