    Angry Where did my strength go? HELP!

    I started to cut last week (I bulked up from 135 to 175).

    My routine was:

    M- chest, tri, forearms
    W- bi, back, abs
    F- legs, shoulders

    7-8 reps/1-2 sets per bodypart/2 mins rest inbtwn sets, heavy weights.

    Now, that I'm cutting, I changed it around so that I do:

    10-11 reps/4 sets per bodypart/1 min rest inbtwn sets, moderately heavy weights.

    ***
    BUT, I can't do more than 2 sets without being totally exhausted.

    WHAT CAN I DO?
    WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

    Btw, I eat my daily protein intake, and supplement with glutamine.

    I don't know what ur diet is like exactly but it is my guess that ur starving urself of carbs. Despite carbs being considered "evil" when ur trying to cut, u still need a decent amount to fuel ur workouts. The reason ur probably crashing after two sets is because ur energy reserves are spent.

    Forget about eating bucketloads of protein and get a few more carbs in ya!

    I eat carbs before/after my workout but limit my carb intake to veggies throughout the rest of the day.

    Couldn't it just be that the reason I'm having a tough time, is that I bumped up my reps from 8 to 11 and my sets from 2-4?

    No......altho u bumped ur reps up, u would have adjusted the weight accordingly (at least, I HOPE u did....lol).

    Don't be so scared of carbs......find some good low GI carb sources and add them to ur meals. The lowest I have ever dropped my carbs is about 150-160g per day and I have never had any trouble with bf.

    Carbs do not miraculously "turn into fat". A recent study over here used a radioactive dye to trace the path carbs followed in the body when they were eaten.....carbs end up being stored as glycogen in the muscles (as a handy reserve energy supply for intense activites). The less glycogen u have, the quicker u fatugue and burn out during intense activities like weightlifting.

    An excess of carbs will eventually get "turned" into fat....but the amount required for this to happen is far more than a dieting bodybuilder could eat.
