Why do so many people hate squats?

How can you hate squats? or leg day for that matter. I love squats so much that i do them 3 times a week and 100 weightless reps every morning. Ever since i started doing them, my endurance, explosive strength and muscle size has increase throughout all my body and has really helped my MMA game. For anyone here who doesnt do squats, DO THEM! The rewards are endless!

People hate squats because they are chest warriors that feel their legs are already big enough.

I prefer the leg press simply because it doesn't hurt my back nearly as much as squats.

i dont squat as my father is a doctor with a 40yr old patient who has been bodybuilding since 14. He now has dreadful back problems from squatting (so bad he has to give up his job). Just imagine the spinal compression with all that weight on your back.

    just my advice.

Nah, form does n't have much to do with it. It's the compression of the discs of cartilage between the vertebrae.

This is a potential problem when poor form is involved. Bear in mind that 1000s of people do squat heavy with no back problems, don't let this one case put you off. It may have been he had an unknown underlying back issue that was seriously worsened by squatting.

most people that dont do squats usualy dont work legs at all because they dont see the point as they dont walk around with there trousers off so no one will see them any way, how much they ache the day after youve worked your legs
personaly i think this is very stupid as legs are just as important if not more important than the rest of your muscles

I have never squatted a bar in my life, I just do leg press, and even if I do, it's lightweight and I do it rarely. It's just to make me feel like I work my legs as well as my chest.

My favorite exercise is bench press, I also like curls and military press sometimes.

I think my legs are big enough whatever

Squatting was hurting my right knee but I never got that problem with deadlifts so somebody recommended hack squats and they work brilliantly!

The title of this post sucks.

You're making a stupid, groundless generalisation. Most of the users on this forum are hardcore into their training, apart from the occasional strat troll. Many of us live by the mantra 'You ain't squat till you squat', and we reflect it in the gym.

3 times a week and your morning routine are too many. You're shocking them into growth, this won't last and you'll eventually hit a plateau.

Reason alot of people hate them is they interfere with the rest of the day.
If you train in the morning and maybe you have a sport to play in the afternoon, good luck running ur fastest or jumping ur highest

if u enjoy squats so much i doubt u do correct form. u hafta go alllllll the way down so u touch the bottom of the squat rack, completely parallel. I just came off a ankle break and came back 2 doin squats first time at a football combine for my team. i did 175 17 times and after i felt like i wanted to throw up. this is why ppl dont like squats.
