I'm just coming out of a 2 year lay off from any kind of excercise or weight training. During those 2 years I only gained around 8 pounds. Right now I'm around just over 30% body fat so I obviously need to lose fat before I start gaining a whole lot of muscle. My question is, because I havn't GAINED any muscle in the last 2 years, can I still lose the muscle I've had without propper dieting or weight training? Or will I at least lose LESS muscle than someone else who's been weight training?

why not just lift weights and not worry about it?
And yes you will lose muscle 100% if you don't lift weights, the muscle you have is enough to get you by on daily activities, as you get lighter you need less muscle to do your daily activities so if theres no stimulus to keep muscle plan on losing alot.

Ok, thanks. I plan on doing some weight lifting while I lose fat. Mainly I was concerned about dieting. I plan on doing a serious cut in calories but I don't want to drop too many calories if I'm gonna end up losing muscle because of it. How does this diet plan sounds:
Meal 1. wheaties cereal. multivitamin
Meal 2. canned tuna plain
Meal 2. Canned tuna plain, low-fat yogurt, strawberries
Meal 5. chicken breast, potato, corn, dry salad
Meal 5. 3 egg whites.
Also, one gallon of water.
Cardio 4 days a week, weights 3 days a week.
Let me know what you think.
