I think he suffers from a rare disease called "calfus lackus". Really tragic.

calves are the hardest bodybart to overcome gentics. Either you're blessed with big calves or you aren't you can't add that much mass no matter what you do.

Seriously people, he is a top tier bodybuilder... do you really think he doesn't know his own weaknesses and that he doesn't work on improving them? Genetics can be a b*tch.

no calves = no Mr. Olympia title I firmly believe that the Mr. Olympia should be developed as close to perfect everywhere.
So Johnnie better start training his calves to match the rest of his tremendous physique and if his genetics won't allow it then that means he is just not meant to win the Mr. O.

As Lee Priest himself stated, the Mr. Olympia was never lost or won because of calves.

you don't win Mr. Olympia based on one bodypart but being complete all over which Johnnie lacks, the best built most complete man should win, Johnnie's calves are so bad that someone who matches him everywhere and has mediocre calves will still places ahead of him. Realistically once you get in the top 5 you better be complete everywhere. Then the title goes to who is more perfect.

Have you kept up with the olympia for the last 15 years? The most complete man does NOT win anymore. Guys have been coming in for years having to suck in their stomachs between poses and still coming in top 3.

Coleman was a great Mr. O from 1998-2000 and also 2003* the rest he should have won thats not my fault the judges gave it to him.
As far as Dorian I never liked his physique period maybe in 1993 I say he won it fair and square, the fact they gave it to him 6 times well thats not my fault.
How is Johnnie gonna be a Mr. O against more complete bodybuilders like Phil Heath, Dennis Wolfe, Ronny Rockel, Dexter Jackson, ? All those guys match him everywhere north of the calves and they all have better calves than Johnnie
Even Dexter as crappy as Dexter's calves are theyre better than Johnnie's
Just because the judges deviate away from the ideal physique doesn't make them justified.

I agree with what you are saying. But bodybuilders are in there to win not be the most appealing, complete physique anymore. And winning nowadays means sacrificing abs, tight midsection for overall mass and ****ty calves will not keep you away from the top 5.
all know what kind of physique the judges have been awarding for the last decade so I can't blame pros for copying that formula for success. But being a complete bodybuilder in the truest essence of the word is not part of it anymore.

At least cant he get that gyno removed? To me, that has always been a thorn in the side for JOJ. I dont know if anyone else sees it that way though.

Do you even REALIZE that the above comment makes you look very stupid?
Seriously though, just watch his Olympia series interview. He knows that his legs and calves need to come up. He's been trying very hard to overcome that genetic imbalance. As bad as his calves are nobody seems to dog Dennis Wolf on his terrible calves.

I remember a few guys and posts commenting on Wolfs lack in calf size. Problem is JJ is so monstrous with his other bodyparts when he is conditioned and it really makes the calf weakness stand out.

I heard about this seriously, people who used to get on top 5 are those people who has a more complete physique/package(including calves) than others..at the "O".
Meaning in order to become Mr. Olympia, you need to have a more complete package than the rest of the pack..
