Exercises that replace other exercises??? take a look-quick advice needed!
As I switch between two gyms I would like the advice from everyone in suggesting what exercise can replace another particular exercise.
e.g. Flat Barbell Bench Press = Flat Dumbbell Press
The exercises I struggle to do at both gyms are:
Triceps Dips(only like proper dips rather than dip machine)
Barbell Row
Barbell Squat
More than 1 replacement would be great also.
Thank you!!!

I say..
Why are you looking to replace them?
Is it a performance issue or a convenience issue?
Don't feel pressured to get back, do so at your own convenience.

Tricep dips - Bench dips, db tricep extension
Barbell rows - DB Rows, Chin ups and pull ups will also be effective.
Barbell squat - BB hack squat, Front squat, Lunges, step ups
Hope that helps you a bit. I presume your problem is lack of equipment?

yeah my problem is one gym (the university gym which is free) has a lack of equipment (no barbell or dip bars). Thats the only reason why i want to replace them simply because i dont want to continue to pay for another gym every session when i can go for free!
thanks guys

Dam, you dont even have a BB!!
Well i guess your gonna have to use the smith machine for the bb moves, which will be fine as a temporary fix. If your dumbells are heavy enough, you can perform most bb exercises fine with db's instead.

Concentrate on dumbbells while at college, and barbells while at home.
Do you have a main campus gym? The smaller, building or quad specific gyms are usually under-furnished.

I think that's only in New York! The gym at my univ had a single weight room with machines, a bench press, and a half-rack.
