Now, maybe it's just me, and maybe my arms are weak. But does anyone else notice something odd about how high a lot of people claim their barbell bicep curls to be. I've recently seen kids younger than me, or with smaller arms than me, having higher curls. Now my arms are no where near massive, i'm at 15.5 flexed, and my estimated one rep is 98lbs for the barbell curl. Now that's an estimate, but I know I can get that if not a few lbs higher. Now that's a rep with no back involvement and purely relying on my biceps to do the work. Anyway, as I was saying, i'm seeing people with one rep estimates of something like 130-140 with 13-14 inch arms. Now the only thing that I could think of is that many people are using momentum from their backs to curl that weight. Is it just me or is it bugging anyone else, or am I just completely off track?

Well, I really didn't think it was possible, or at least very likely for weight like that to be thrown around from the people who said they were doing that. Just wanted to make sure only because I've been surprised before by how much people can lift or whatever. I was just wondering too, because although I know you can always improve yourself, if I'm at 15+ arms, and my curling weight is much less than someone with significantly smaller arms, then I would really need to start changing something to work my arms better.

First of all, that scenario does not relate to what I'm complaining about in the least. I do agree that there are tons of variable when it comes to how much weight someone can lift, which is why I asked in my first post if whether I'm completely off track or not, because as I said, I've been surprised by how much someone can lift compared to how much they look like they can lift. But when I see tons of kids, younger than me and usually smaller arms (i'm not saying everyone) sayiing their one reps are a lot more than mine, I wonder if i'm doing something wrong, or if they're just lying. And probably a hint of jealously :-p.
Also, Axl
I know it's a one rep estimate, but you don't get 130-140 without higher numbers of lower weight which can be fairly close to that number. I didn't do it out, but maybe they put in 100lbs for 5 reps which would still be higher than I'd expect.
