Very good to have you here. I've been a big fan of yours for quite some time - not only because of your physique, but your strength!!
Benching 515 for 8 reps as a teenager is no joke...!!
All right Eddie, I have a question for you.
Your arms were massive:
yet in 9/10 photos of pros training, say, biceps, they curl light weights.. I have to ask, is this simply for photos?? I can't really visualize you benching 500 lbs for reps...and then doing 40 lbs curls!
A question that I've always wondered about.

Welcome aboard Eddie.
Now you just have to shoot an email over to Bob Chick or another mod listed on the bottom of the page, saying you are a pro and should get your name highlighted and they can create a sticky for you and your own thread on top of the page with all the other pros, I mean pro.

Eddie really typified the American physique in an era before we lost sight of the basic ideals of bodybuilding. Massive yet tapered to compliment the contrasts of the body.
Eddie was huge and yet did not lose sight of the admirable aspect in developing a world-class physique. This type of physique is more the ideal when we think of muscle mass and sheer might. It still holds the necessary characteristics that distinguish us from the physical form as seen in powerlifting or strong-man contestants.
A great inspiration to emulate. Eddie was a superior American physique and he still hold's up perfectly against many of the current day champions at the IFBB pro level.

Agreed.Eddie was one of those few that came out massive as hell with freaky arms, quads, hams, and back and was one of my pics to do some real damage in the Haney/post Haney era and got screwed for going over to the WBF.

Eddie Robinson
Thanks for all the kind words! And yes, this is me Roxie. I shot Will an email showing it was me.....yes, m.montoya I did get screwed when I came back from the WBF.. However it was well worth it!!! It was great working for Vince McMahon.. He treated athletes like they should be treated! And made some great $$.. To answer wide lats Question, No, I will not be stepping back on stage.. The boys today are 2 huge..I'm use to old school gear not today's... lost interest when bellies started to distend and were give 1st place for it plus my 225 @ 5'7 on stage would list me as on of the smallest today. Answer to SSK1903, As a Teen I was blessed with strength, I took a teen WW in the 220 class with a 575 Bench, And mens 220 with a 610 bench as witness by Dr. Squat (Fred Hatfield). And yes I curl heavy was not just for the photos. To have mass you must lift heavy, however the key to size is going heavy while using good form!!!! Thanks for the kind words guys..Train hard and heavy. I'm here if ya need me..Will be at the STS Booth at the Olympia.. Stop by if ya have any questions, and I'll give ya a free photo..GB Eddie

I find it so strange that Eddie Robinson would be seen as 'small'!!! Thr roundness of his muscle groups is distintive. We really need to give our 'collective' heads a shake, here. At 225 pounds and 5'7" a bodybuilder is small??? I might agree Eddie is shorter, objectively, than say Ronny Coleman. I always understood that for every inch of height you would require some 8-10 pounds of lean muscle tissue----hopefully distributed in an even and balanced manner. So if we put Eddie at 6 foot he might then weigh roughly 265-275 pounds. Would that not allow adequate comparison on the basis of sheer muscle mass at today's standards??
Guys like Eddie, Jeff King, Joe Meeko, Lance Dreher were exceptional bodybuilders. They represented American bodybuilding as well as anyone ever has.

Hi Eddie, great to have you posting here. I dont have a question but I have a suggestion that might help you. Instead of trying to type out who's question you are answering, you can use the multi-quote function on the bottom right. For every person's post that you want to reply to, press the middle button that has the +" symbol, and then on the last post you are quoting press the QUOTE button. It should make it easier for you.

As for my Routine I'm only in the gym 4 days a week now, m,t-th,fr just maintaining.. As for other tips..Well, this can take all day..LOL.. I'm a firm believer in instinctive training as: if you don't feel like training, don't. If you feel weak that day, Just day do reps. A lot of these signs are your body telling you something's wrong, May be overstrained and need rest, may be sick, etc....If you feel great in the gym take advantage of it.. and if feel tired and rundown keep it simple and go through the motions.. it's best to be undertrained than overtrained!!!!you must give the body adequate rest and proper nutrition to repair and rebuild...if not you will be put in a catabolic state and may take weeks to rebound!

Hello Roadpigjohn, LOL...Thanks for the kind words re: Arnold classic.. As for Randy Savage, we don't train together anymore, we still talk here and there. Randy has been spending more time working on Business projects than in the gym..Talked to him the other day and he is working on some kind of Myspace site???
Thanks for all the Questions.. I will try and get back on- line next week to follow up with any new questions.. Train smart & God Bless!!
