    protein source question

Ok, so here is my dilemma. During the summer I work for the Department of transportation on the paving crew so I started doing IF so i don't need to pack a lunch or any of that jazz. I know meal timing is irrelevant and its all about calories in vs calories out with sufficient micro nutrients also. But the dilemma is I do not get home from work and the gym until 8pm and then get up and repeat the next day at 5am.

At night I eat around 2000 calories in about 1-2 hours but i do not get my 180-200 grams of protein from quality sources. i get around 50-100 grams from meat and the other 100 from protein powders because its easier. Then i get my fats with peanut butter toast or butter bread(something simple and I love).

So long story short does it hurt to get half of my protein from powders? Will i see any difference in body composition?

I am currently cutting and take a multi and about 5 grams of fish oil and flax oil as well.

thanks and measly reps for serious answers.

I don't see a problem with what you're doing. Just be sure to buy a name-brand protein powder so that you're actually getting what you think you're getting.

My only suggestion is to try to eat at least one portion of red meat every day as part of your regular-food protein intake.

on 3 or more days of the week I'll end up eating 2 5 oz hamburgers simply because I love grilled meat and I have a whole chest freezer full of venison and beef thanks for family hunting and raising cows. On other days I'll have 8-10 oz of fish or chicken, the main thing is I got sick of cooking 2-3 different types of meat. I just want to come home eat a couple burgers, drink a couple glasses of whole milk, eat some peanut butter and crash for the night.

Also I usually drink ON Whey or Myofusion, would they be considered quality protein powders? I always thought they were some of the best from what I've read
