just curious what u guys eat (if anything) before training....i try to train first thing in the AM, sometimes i take a scop protein and TBLSP flax oil, others nothing...

i want to get stronger and leaner...but sometimes im gassed..

currently 218lbs...weight has been steady for 3 weeks now (6 wks in)
in my 3rd week of HIIT cardio so hoping to speed up some weight loss, or maybe drop 300cals a day and or 20mins cardio on workout days....not sure

25-30gr whey protein with 15-30 gr dextrose will help.

I would err towards the low side on the carbs and prove that you need more before adding to it.

I'm only gonna respond so you know people will read this but maybe not have anything productive to add..

My case isn't near yours, so my situation and pre work out nutrition is prolly not gonna work out for you, but I lift heavy 5 to 6 days a week, depending on how I feel and work schedule, on an empty stomach. I wake up, drink some coffee, or I take a scoop of NO-Explode with water, and I'm off to the gym. Right out of bed and to the gym, thats how I lift. I take 2 scoops of whey and water after lifting. No dextrose added, just 100% ON Whey and water. I do 30 to 45 misn of low intensity cardio after each lift (except on leg day), before I take the PWO shake.

It is working for me, my lifts are getting heavier...my body fat is decreasing slowly...I am feeling incredible, and my only regret is I waited till I was 33 years old to start doing it...

I mainly try and eat a solid meal an 1 hour or 2 before i work out. I lift heavy 5 days of the week and cardio after each session except leg day (sound the same as above i know) and most the days i have class before and then i lift. I prefer to lift at night when my body has been warmed up by the days activities and to also keep my metabolism active into the night for my last meal.

I dont like the feeling of food in my stomach when i work out so 1 hour or more before i work out i like to eat so it is all digested. I would say a Whey shake in the morning is a good idea just to get it out of the fasted state and by the time you are on to your cardio your body should be relying on ketones for energy and not the shake.
