    Penn State assistant strength coaches:

Teaching the athletes to exhale on the bench decent and inhale when pushing the weight away from the body

NO ONE ARM DUMBELL SNATCHES (LOL)

    NO PLATE JUMPS

    NO SNATCH SQUATS (overhead squats)

no jump squats (light wieght) "You can't do any exercises where your feet leave the ground"-Penn state assistant

Front squats better than over-head squats for full body balance and stabalization (has anyone here done over-head squats? They are hard as hell to stabalize and this guy was saying front squats are harder)

OH! and there is not one plat-form for olympic lifting at Penn state university because they don't believe in it. Just recently the track and field throws coach purchased two plat-forms. If you look at any other big school's weight room they have plat-form after plat-form. Penn state had none untill the end of last year and only the throwers and jumpers use it.

I personally always got kicked out of the weight room at the track indoor facility because I did stuff that they didn't like. Things that make athletes. He was also pissed cause he had no say in our lifting/conditioning program and he would just watch us. He eventually was taken out of our building and replaced with a layed back assistant who was open-minded to training philosophies

What is so crazy about the debacle at Penn State is that Vladimir Zatsiorsky is a professor there! Penn State has one of the greatest authorities in the strength and conditioning world, yet they do the things Cownuttz wrote about and also use HIT for the football team!

YEah from talking to my coach and the other student/athletes they say that professor knows his sh!t. I believe he has some books out too. It's a shame that the strength and conditioning coaches are too proud and can't approach things with an open mind.

I'm an alum. Thomas is an idiot, plain and simple. I listened to Jeremy scott speak at the Pa football coaches clinic, even their speed workout is poorly thought out. He was very proud that the lineman could run across campus.?? Who gives a ****, they only run 15 yards at a time in a game. All these compicated patterns and stuff, and their measure was running a prescribed number of three hundred yard shuttles. It's a good thing they always got the best people in the northeast. Now that they don't you can see the results.

I stayed at the Athletic Club. A dozen national, drug free championships in the open and masters. We had drug free 50 year old men that could out lift the young, genetically gifted PS football players.
