Anyways i currenlty weigh 140lbs, and ill wrestle 115-120 and i was wondering should i be lifting weights now to help lose that weight and what exercises can i do in my home until the school weight room opens. Also how do i get ready for wrestling season, like mentaliy and physically, i.e. lasting longer in matches <---that would always kill me! Also when do pratcies start, bc i forgot lol. ANYHELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED!
anyways, since the weight room isnt open all i got im my basement is a barbell, a treadmill, total gym xl, and a weider 8920
OR would you recommend body exericies, i.e. push-ups, sit ups......
PLease Help and Thank you!

Lol Wut?
If your trying to cut, I wouldn't mess around with weights. Unless you do a strength program, even then you could gain weight or turn fat to muscle which you then won't be able to lose. I would start running now. Get up to 3-5 miles everyday. It will help with weight loss and stamina. I also wouldn't reccommend cutting that low anyway. Cut some weight and do a strength program and you'll be fine. Strength is usually why you cut anyway, the smaller you get down, the weaker and "easier" it is. At least when I wrestled that's why I cut.

Prepare Perform Prevail
Well its still the off-season for wrestling I believe...so you can work some weight training. Id stick to basic workouts M-W-F or T-T-S or something like that.
Day 1
Squat
Bench Press or Snatch
Power Clean
Day 2
Deadlifts
Front Squat or Lunges
Military Press
Also, try running 3-4 times a week. If you dont have acess to a lot of weight equipment, you can do a lot of BW movements. Try doing circuit training. Your best excercises for BW are squats (squat thrusts, jump squats, pistols, hindu squats, full squat), lunges (side, back, regular), Chin Ups, Pull Ups, Push Ups (regular, wide, close), dips, burpees (with push up), and for your core, bridging, crunchs, etc.

You're going to cut 20-25lbs? And maintain it/strength for the season. Good luck. Wrestle at a weight that makes it so you can eat and keep up your energy/consentrate on your match. It'd even be better to wrestle 140, be able to build strength/muscle (maybe even higher to make room for it, although that would take time) and than cut so much, you can't eat and lose your focus/will/energy.

i see what you mean about losing weight from practice, but it will be very hard to keep your strength up or even at the same level during wrestling season if you are going to lose that much weight.
my suggestion would be to start losing a small amount of weight now, by running 4 days a week
i would say not to lose more than a lbs a week which is what i do
try to be within 5-6 lbs of your wieght class

Never heard of people losing quite that much during practice, not people your size anyway. Well, if it happens, go ahead.

Why would you not lift weights while cutting? For one, you cant gain muscle(weight) while you are cutting... & why would you stop weights, and halt strength gains? Even if he was on a mainly strength program while bulking, he isnt going to gain huge amounts amounts of weight like a BB.
Turn Muscle into fat? Muscle will not turn into fat...
I hope I interpreted your reply wrong, because that was really bad advice...
You can keep keep your strength and add strength as long as you arent cutting too much...Only losing 1-1.5 pounds a week will mantain and add on strength if you are cutting.

Well, what do you want, to just not get 'thrown around like a ragdoll' or to dominate on the mat?
If you want excellence, start eating a low-fat, high protein diet, and doing A LOT of reading on Bodybuilding.com . Most HS wrestlers you will face will have no concept of nutrition. Use this for your advantage. You need to be eating plenty of food in this pre-season and doing hardcore lifting. Once you get in season, it is impossible to add muscle. Work on lifting heavy, and build an explosive strength.
You will need muscular endurance, but in my experience, if you lack it, you can make up. When I wrestled I had VERY bad muscular endurance. I knew this. So I altered my wrestling style.
Also, when practices start up they will focus on building your muscular endurance, so don't worry about it too much b4 season.
Great luck man, you are very lucky! Being 15 yrs old, having access to a wealth of fitness knowledge, and starting up in wrestling.
Man, how I wish I knew when I was 15 what I know now!!
