Big Ten Better than SEC?
Does anyone still think this?
i personally dont think any Big 10 team could beat LSU or Florida. They would be lucky to beat Alabama or Arkansas.

No, but if they are, they'll have to prove it to a lot of people.

I was impressed with the way Ohio State played last weekend, but overall I think the Big 10 is one of the worst major conferences this year. I would put the SEC, Pac 10, and Big East all well above the Big 10 this year.

The Big Ten is one of the worst conferences this year. Of course none of the teams could compete with LSU or USC.

SEC yes, Pac 10 maybe, but Big East...oh hell no. Big East is so overrated its not even funny. Rutgers has no business being number 11.

I expected more from Washington against Ohio State... Oregon has been looking good this year, as well as Cal. Everyone seems to think highly of Oregon State, but I haven't been that impressed with them after Cincinnati killed them. I think Arizona State could be tough this year with Erickson running the show, but they haven't really been tested yet.

Me too. But Washington's qb (who I think is a Freshman) will lift that team in the next couple of years. They could be a serious threat once he gets some experience.

I'm thinking about heading up to Seattle next weekend to watch the USC game... I think Washington is going to be a good team later on this year.

Agreed. The only really good team they have is WV. Then I'd group Louisville, RU, and USF together.

I don't think Penn State or Wisconsin could keep up with the likes of a Florida or LSU. They could however keep up with Auburn/Georgia.

Wisconsin is faster than they get credit for. Probably the fastest defense is the Big Ten. Not as skilled as Florida or LSU but they have comparable speed.
Jack Ikegwuonu did run down Darren McFadden from behind after all.....I dont know of any SEC CBs who did that.

Seems like this talk happens every year. It's hard to play against the SEC teams. They are generally faster (better wide-outs) but the crop of the best linemen will ALWAYS go to the corn-fed boys of the Big 10/XII.

USC hasn't had any problems the last few times they've played SEC teams

I assume we are discussing football. I think that conference strength is cyclical and I agree that the big 10 is definately in a down year. Last year was a very good year for the big 10.

I agree...They manhandled Arkansas without McFadden. Seems like they like playing the Razorbacks for that matter. Killed them the year before. No doubt they're decent.

Yeah and last year the big skilled lineman of Ohio St. were no match for the smaller quicker d-line of Florida.
No way an sec team makes it to the national championship game this year because LSU & Florida will most likely play twice and I don't see either team going 2-0.
USC will lose a game this year because the Pac-10 has some very good teams
The big 10 teams will beat up on each other (this is the year Henne beats Ohio St.)
I predict the Oklahoma/Texas winner will play WVU for the national champ

The Big Ten teams are usually over-rated. The most obvious reason for this is the biased coverage and hype by ESPN which is a sister station of ABC who has the rights to broadcast Big Ten games whereas the competition, CBS, has the SEC games. So which games do you think ESPN wants you to tune into??
