Everything I've Known About Dating

This is my final post here. I learned everything I needed to learn and all that good stuff. So I will leave in an attempt to contribute something to the boards.

I started off as a complete chump. I'm sure I've given you the sob story before, run a search. Life has changed for me. So here it is, just for y'all. Note: If it offends anyone, please leave. Nobody will be spared.

1) The most important rule in my opinion is that girls under any circumstances do not like desperate guys. Give it up. The whole "lets get her a dozen roses every date" has never worked unless its for special occasions (no, seeing her every waking minute is not a moment). If you are around her all the time, she's going to think you are a loser.

2) Stop pretending that girls do not care about looks. I don't know how this myth started. Probably some guy saw a hot girl with an ugly dude and came to this conclusion. Yes, confidence is important but if you are obnoxiously ugly, she's not going to care how confident you are...for the most part.

3) If you are going out in the dating world, expect to be rejected, often. What I mean by this is that if you are going out and talking to women you've never met and ask them to be with you on a date, many girls have never approached a guy like this. As such, reactions will be varied. She can still be attracted to you and tell you no. Why? If you've only met for 10-15 minutes, she's not going to give out information. Girls do not want to be seen as sluts so this is the main reason.

4) When you do get rejected, thats it. Move on. Yeah, easier said than done and yes, its hurtful. Statistically, you are more likely to be rejected in life than accepted. Just chalk it up as a part of the statistic. Think of it this way: Its her loss. I've had fun with rejections. Sometimes I was a complete idiot and sometimes she was. Makes for some good stories to tell to your friends.

5) Stop reading what fashion to get or something. You do not need to be an Abercrombie whore or a "manly man" who wears shirts that are years old. Just dress well and exercise good hygiene. You'd think this is a given but its not. Having ass breath or BO will work against you.

6) You are a man. That doesn't mean beat her and humiliate her. Screw that. I mean have confidence in yourself. If she bosses you around, leave her. You are worth more than just some princess's footstool. It doesn't matter how big her tits are or how good she is in bed, your dignity should be worth more than that. Find someone who has a good body and good in the sack but still is willing to treat you with respect. It means having to wade through seas of princesses and iceboxen but they're there. Treat her with respect too.

7) Cheating is unacceptable. When a girl cheats on you, never "talk it out." All you are doing is telling her its fine to cheat. I believe in the phrase "Once a cheater, always a cheater." That applies for men too. If your relationship is that bad, just break it off with her. Its much better than the world of **** you'll be in when you get caught.

8) Grow a pair. There have been a lot of threads where guys are afraid to playfight with a girl or do anything that would require some cojones. Feminists have instilled enough fear into men to believe than any physical contact with a woman is bad and will result in her screaming "Rape!!!" at the top of her lungs. If she hits you for saying a smart aleck comment, don't be afraid to smack her ass. If she's being a jerk (in a playful way of course), don't be afraid to arm bar her and have fun with her. If she screams in a playful tone, you are doing something right.

9) This ties in with what I said above but have fun with her. Most guys are so afraid of saying the wrong things and trying to get into her pants that they forget to enjoy themselves in the process. Have fun. Thats what dating is all about. That and of course, sex.

10) Speaking of sex, know the risks but don't be piss scared of it. Always wear a rubber. Always. Never succumb to the "heat of the moment." Some girls have tried that with me and it always struck me as odd, as in she might have STDs and was trying to spread them. Maybe I was just being paranoid. Always wear a condom. Also, never finish inside of a woman. Condoms can break and the less fluids that are transmitted, the better off you are. Do not be afraid of sex. Herpes is out there. I've been with many a woman and have yet to get a disease. Maybe I'm just lucky but then again, we all take risks in life. You can avoid sex and get ran over by a drunk driver. You can bench 225 and accidentally land on your neck, killing you quickly. Life is risk after risk. Don't be afraid of them.

11) Don't be overprotective. This is the worst thing most guys do when they have an attractive lady friend. They flip **** at any guy giving her the eye. All it does is make her hate you more and like him more. Everyone wants what they can't get and by doing this, you are doing much more damage.

12) Forget everything about those dating guides. A lot of them have lines in there that are good for some but not for everyone. Forcing out lines with the wrong tone or attitude is like saying, "Please woman, do not **** me. Run away ASAP before I break down and show you my stamp collection." Cocky and Funny is good if you can pull it off. Most guys can't so they shouldn't. You can be a great conversationalist and not use those guides.

13) What to do about paying? I didn't used to pay for girls at all. Now I do. It doesn't hurt me that much if any. I get paid $250 a month for my school job. The most I ever had to spend on a date was $25. Wow. Huge blow to my account, eh? I say pay for her. Many don't pay because they think its a power struggle. If you are a great person and a man, she's not going to take advantage of you. Its just that simple. Two beer cups at a kegger is a drop in the bucket.

14) Stop making the relationship about power. Unfortunately, I must blame women for this. In the 50s, it was a man's world. Then feminists arrived and demanded women start holding the cards and treating the man like ****. The rest is history. Now relationships today are a matter of power. Girls will try to overpower men as much as they can, no matter how big your biceps are. Then there's guys that try to dominate women so much that its not even an enjoyable relationship. Don't make it about power. If she tries to rule you, quickly counter it with a comment or action showing that you don't appreciate what she is doing. If she cares about you, she'll give up trying to dominate you. If she doesn't, she'll probably throw a fit and eventually break it off with you.

15) Don't make the relationship based on materialism. This is a problem with nice guys. At this point, men should realize that giving women gifts all the time is not right. If she think its the way it should be then you have a problem. Girls who want guys for looks and personality will not be demanding expensive gifts. If they are, leave them. If all she's going to see you as is a big, talking wallet, you're just hurting yourself by pursuing this relationship. Its just not going to work.

Last but not least...

Don't be afraid of girls! Thats right. They are humans like you and me. They have their own strengths, weaknesses, insecurities, life experiences, etc. They are not angels worthly of placing on golden pedestals. Nor are they your sex slaves. They are people. The sooner you realize this, the better off you are.

I dont know about this. I mean dressing well, and especially dressing unique will get you attention.

I think if you shop at places like A&F, Banana Republic, GAP you can't really go wrong. Especially if you buy the alphets on the models or in magazines. People have already done the thinking for you, just pay for it.

Having a nice hair cut, trimming your body hair, cutting your nails, BO and bad breath should all be considered.

Nice post, like to emphasize a little on point 5) Looks do count, she has to be attracted to you, you can carry a convo like a veteran PUA but at the end of the day if you aren’t attractive in her eyes then your chances of scoring will dwindle...

Girls like different looking guys, just because one girl finds you unattractive doesn’t mean the next chic you mack will....

Can't believe how correct you are there. I've been through that. My ex was power-hungry. I didn't "submit" to her and it ended in a series of hissy-fits and arguments etc. and it got more and more obvious until she was saying things like "i don't have to give you sex. You should be grateful that I give it to you." and always saying she was busy, then later letting it slip that she wasn't.

Power in a relationship is unfortunately a big issue. You make several good points in your post.

good advice, but on number 5) it is sometimes subjective to your culture and friend network...

I play drums and study music as a lifestyle, as does most of my friends... the girls I get are ones I meet at gigs or through friends and stuff, so basically all of them are into music like rock or metal, which of course affects their social life, how they dress etc....

If I were to wear banana republic, gap or abercrombie stuff, I would cease to land girls of my type and laughed at by my mates...
That also means that the clothes i wear, the fact that my auburn hair cascades down over/past my shoulders, and that I am usually seen in a group of guys like me, means that I generally don't have a chance with the 'trendy' girls who like guys who wear industrie, abercrombie and whatever...


Just remember that everyone should have A style. That is that you should dress and style yourself based on your lifestyle... I only have a few pairs of jeans, all of my shirts are band shirts, and a couple plain coloured ones.

I'm not saying that all your clothes should be exactly the same... It's fun to suprise people with something somewhat different/shocking... for me every now and than I show up in my tight leather pants... my normal jeans are all a bit baggy, and I'm 6'2 so when I show up wearing TIGHT leathers, people flip and love it... however I don't think you gelled hair gap boys would be smiled apon for doing the same...

Just dress reflective of yourself, if you think something is cool, then buy it and don't be afraid to ask friends (esp. ones that are girls) if you look good/chump in it...


My main point is = You should just be yourself when it comes to clothes, as is the case with alot of things girl related... they sense a try hard!

MookieOut: I got really into clothes recently and started wearing some crazy stuff. I got so much **** from friends, and even if they were just joking around people made comments so much that it actually ended up bringing my reputation down in general and that affected girls' opinions of me. Even if I did look more attractive to women in the clothes, the other results made it worse in general.

fashion is a part of being attractive. with that said not everyone can pull off styles..... if your flabby or fat, u cant pull off a style. u either have to be skinny or the chest has to be toned. typically, guys who cant pull off styles wear the skater look[boardshop clothes]... and they give everyone else **** for being ''metro''... or gay. theyre just jealous that they cant pull it off [like loser99 was saying]

So what if you're ugly and can't afford plastic surgery? You can't give up. You can say, "I'll work out" but what about that 75% of the time you're not showing off your body? To fix this problem, just give hot girls the impression that you're not intimidated by their good looks, by saying something that displays value, such as negging first.

Thought I'd add that it helps greatly to dress for your body type. Don't wear XXL shirts if you weigh 115 lb. at 5'9. Brand names don't matter, as long as your colors are coordinated and clothes fit. It also helps to take good care if your shoes.

Actually, you're wrong. Being cocky/funny is inside all of us. We're men. We were built to be dominant. We CAN do this. Just remember that when you're doing this, don't laugh at your own statements. When you neg, don't laugh. She is less likely to laugh if you do. But most guys can. Just say it like you're being serious. And some guys can't be great conversationalists without using those guides. They do help. In fact, some guys can't hold a good conversation to save their lives. That's what the guides are for.

So let's say you're not a Brad Pitt. But you can look better. These simple steps will help you.

Hair:

Haircut should fit your face shape. The best shape to have is oval (like Keanue Reeves) because you can wear any hairstyle with it. If you can, go to a hair salon and ask the girls there to recommend a hairstyle that lookds good on you. You'll be glad you did. Don't be afraid to try new styles, either. Don't dismiss something because you think it's gay or metro. Why incapacitate yourself by having a ****ty ugly haircut that only impresses your guy friends? It only makes it easier to look good.

Skin:

If you have acne, you can try over the counter topical medications like Neutrogena or Nivea for Men. If these don't work, try Proactiv solution. Proactiv works grea for clearing acne, and can make a dramatic difference in as little as one day. Lots of water helps to clear out your liver toxins, which can aggravate acne, so drink up.

Facial hair:

Clean shaven? Mustachioed? Bearded? What to do? Well, whatever you choose, just make sure you keep it well maintained. Different women like different facial hairstyles, and what one woman finds ugly another one can find hot. This is where you can go whichever way you want, and whichever way makes you feel good. I wear a goatee, and while some women like it, others don't. Just wear what style you feel the best in.

Eye Care:

Visine can help clear red eye so you don't look high when you go to your date. Unless your girl is into that, of course.

Glasses:

Frames should fit your face. Ask a lady at the eyecare center to recommend a pair. Same goes with shades.

Brows:

Wax? Shape? Tweeze? This is all up to you. Some women like it, some don't.

Mouth:

Brush your teeth and wash your mouth every day. Should go without saying.

Clothes:

Should fit your body type. But if you like it, wear it. If body fitting clothes don't make you feel good, don't wear them. You have to feel your best. Wear whatever you want. But it's generally considered better looking to dress for your body type.

In regards to paying, 25 bucks for every date is not that much ey? Well what happens if your like me and have about 4 dates lined from Monday-Thurd? Thats 100 bucks dude... fu.ck that. I go in, get my hot chocolate, pay 2,50 for it and let her pay for herself. Thats 10 bucks for 4 dates... and coming from someone who is saving.. a big saving... plus i own my balls!

Anyway, if your getting laid by multiple hotties then stick to your advice, if not then rethink it.

11) Don't be overprotective. This is the worst thing most guys do when they have an attractive lady friend. They flip **** at any guy giving her the eye. All it does is make her hate you more and like him more. Everyone wants what they can't get and by doing this, you are doing much more damage.

12) Forget everything about those dating guides. A lot of them have lines in there that are good for some but not for everyone. Forcing out lines with the wrong tone or attitude is like saying, "Please woman, do not **** me. Run away ASAP before I break down and show you my stamp collection." Cocky and Funny is good if you can pull it off. Most guys can't so they shouldn't. You can be a great conversationalist and not use those guides.

13) What to do about paying? I didn't used to pay for girls at all. Now I do. It doesn't hurt me that much if any. I get paid $250 a month for my school job. The most I ever had to spend on a date was $25. Wow. Huge blow to my account, eh? I say pay for her. Many don't pay because they think its a power struggle. If you are a great person and a man, she's not going to take advantage of you. Its just that simple. Two beer cups at a kegger is a drop in the bucket.

14) Stop making the relationship about power. Unfortunately, I must blame women for this. In the 50s, it was a man's world. Then feminists arrived and demanded women start holding the cards and treating the man like ****. The rest is history. Now relationships today are a matter of power. Girls will try to overpower men as much as they can, no matter how big your biceps are. Then there's guys that try to dominate women so much that its not even an enjoyable relationship. Don't make it about power. If she tries to rule you, quickly counter it with a comment or action showing that you don't appreciate what she is doing. If she cares about you, she'll give up trying to dominate you. If she doesn't, she'll probably throw a fit and eventually break it off with you.

15) Don't make the relationship based on materialism. This is a problem with nice guys. At this point, men should realize that giving women gifts all the time is not right. If she think its the way it should be then you have a problem. Girls who want guys for looks and personality will not be demanding expensive gifts. If they are, leave them. If all she's going to see you as is a big, talking wallet, you're just hurting yourself by pursuing this relationship. Its just not going to work.

Last but not least...

Don't be afraid of girls! Thats right. They are humans like you and me. They have their own strengths, weaknesses, insecurities, life experiences, etc. They are not angels worthly of placing on golden pedestals. Nor are they your sex slaves. They are people. The sooner you realize this, the better off you are.
