    Statin drugs and supplement interactions

If anyone has had any experience in this area, any help would be much appreciated. I had bloodwork done recently only to discover that my overall cholesterol is 290, apparently I'm a cheeseburger away from having gravy in my heart. I was immediately prescribed a statin drug. The doctor wasn't well versed in supplements and although I doubt I'm in any danger of mixing this drug with anything harmful, I myself am not a medical professional. I read the fact sheet that came with this medication, however my questions have not been satisfied.

For the record I am taking Superpump 250, Animal Pak, whey shakes, Ultra 40 liver tabs, and a lot of clean food.

Also, do these statins negatively affect physical performance? The doctor danced around this question by countering that it may cause aches but that was the extent of it. If anyone can help me it would ease my anxiety and perhaps I'll actually relax.

Statins work by inhibiting the production of cholesterol but also inhibt the production of CoQ10 in the process. Think of it like collateral damage. I would highly recommend taking at least 100mg(get the softgels, better absorption) a day to conteract the decrease.
Approach life one productive day at a time and no goal is unattainable.

statins suck. they are very hard on the body. rough on the liver in particular.

i'd go the natural route personally before getting a prescrip for statins.

    red yeast rice
    garlic
    coq10
