    Creatine vs. Whey Protein

I know that it is better to use these two products together but unfortunately they are damn expensive. If I had to choose between the two, what will give me the best results? What brands should I use?

well if you're trying to add lasting mass, use the whey protein. You should do some research and order your own custom protein from the **************. I suppose if your just trying to look good for the summer, go with the creatine -ProLab's is my favorite.

it's almost impossible not to put on some fat... but protein is more important than creatine... creatine is great... but protein is #1... creatine wont build muscle, protein will... creatine will only help...

its not that expensive. Its only 9 dollars for a months worth of creatine from eas. Protein isnt that expensive if you buy the right kind either.

Met-Rx Mass Action has creatine,HMB,and TMG. I had also heard that Creatine competes for absorption with Glutamine but nobody had any proof. Studies have found that the combination of protein and carbohydrates increases insulin release and consequently muscle creatine absorption to the same extent as high carbohydrates alone.

that's why I said you also need carbs... but creatine + whey ends up costing alot more than if you by the two seperately in the long run... plus i can customize how much protein and creatine I want in my post-workout shake...

    Creatine and Protein together

I have read that the two should not be taken together. They will fight each other for absorption. I think if you can afford protein, then you can afford both protein and creatine. Higher Power Creatine 1000 is an excellent choice for very cheap.

    Good luck...

Big Cat wrote a great article on Creatine
    http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/catupdate.htm

He writes, "The reasoning behind the myth is that both nutrients require the same calcium transport-ion."

So I guess that answers my question on absorption.

creatine uptake is best when taken with 50grams protein and 50+ grams of high GI carbs.
