For whatever reason, McCarthy seems to think running Grant to the edge is the way to go in the running game. Dude is probably the slowest starting RB in the league, he does his best work when he's going straight ahead. The running game was comatose when they were running Grant wide, then they no more start running him up the middle and he gashes Philly for a few decent runs and gets hurt.

Speaking of running up the middle...Kuhn busted off a couple of good runs up the middle and McCarthy never went back to it.

We should use Kuhn like Alstott. He was doing great today.

I only saw two main problems with this game. (I'm not concerned about Rodgers, he didn't absolutely suck and he was facing tons of pressure and his second INT was the wet ball slipping out of his hand)
- Mark Tauscher and Chad Clifton. (I will give Clifton more of a pass on this one, since he was against elite competition, but Tauscher was even worse, his play was unacceptable)
- Our defense vs mobile QBs. (We saw this last year with Big Ben avoiding tons of potential sacks, and we saw Vick do the same and carve us up on the ground) Luckily there are not many of these players with this ability.
Our special teams were good, the run game was solid when it was set up, the receivers caught the ball, very few penalties, Mason was on target, and our pass rush was fierce. Our secondary played very solid considering the circumstances.
Overall I think Tauscher may be on the bench soon. Rodgers, nor any other QB in the league can perform consistently when that much pressure is applied. Whether it is MM, the line coach, or the age of Tauscher and Clifton, I don't know but we can't afford to start every season like this.
(Also it would have been nice for Tramon and Clay to catch some of those balls)

I enjoyed watching the overrated Cowboys lose to the Redskins. Redskins offense is nothing special but their defense does not give up points. They let the Cowboys get some yards but held when they needed to.
Former Packer Josh Bidwell could have cost the Redskins the game yesterday with his poor play (terrible punt and botched field goal hold).

alright, not to hate, but that game was insanely sloppy.
- Rodgers looked sub par big time (he knows it)
- injuries everywhere
- missed assignments/interceptions
i will say that the Packers are definitely keeping penalties to a minimum and that is huge.
Jordy didn't look half bad returning kicks yesterday either. Kuhn stepped in as well.
I really hope Grant is OK, and I feel horrible for Harrell.
The secondary didn't look TOO bad either. Shields did ok, even though IDK what Reid was thinking not targeting him more.lilliiilliiliilliililliil

as a bills fan.. the only way i think Buffalo can beat green bay, is to score on multiple interceptions
its clearly obvious your offensive line sucks... if we can get pressure, then our secondary (2nd best in '09, and still full of ball hawks) SHOULD be able to make a couple plays
that being said.. if it doesnt happen, Buffalo should be prepared to lose 40(or more) to 0
i cant see buffalo's offense scoring on your defenseMisc'in since '07

Saw on NFL.com that Aaron Kampman had 1.5 sacks yesterday for the Jaguars. Nice comeback game after his injury.

yeah, Kampman is a pure 4-3 DE, and a great one at that.
he and Clay Jr. are beastly.

I'm didn't understand why the Eagles didn't double up Matthews. It's not like the Packers are going to get a pass rush consisently from anyone else. I guess with Vick in there, they figured his mobility would help him get away...and it did. He slipped out of a couple sacks.

Not impressed with yesterday TBH. I know we didnt gameplan for Vick but you know when hes in for good that hes going to run, so put a damn shadow on him! You dont play like Kolb is still in the game, you have to adapt to the situation and we didnt do that. Thank God for Clay Matthews.

All in all.. it was a sloppy game.
But look at every single NFL game this week.. there were no teams that didnt look sloppy to be honest. And it is only week one. Give everyone some time to get into game shape.
And again.. teach Tramon Williams how to catch a damn interception lolPackers - Bucks - Brewers - Badgers

I would rather see a sloppy 1st game of the season than a sloppy last game of the season. At least the areas that need to be worked on are exposed
