Too much protein in one meal while cutting?

In my other thread some people are saying 80 grams of protein in a meal is too much for my body to take at once. True?

I'd think it depends on how much muscle mass you have. 80 seems like a waste to me.

If you do that before lifting your body will find good use of it =). It'll work with it instead of breaking down your muscles, but eating that much protein in one meal won't nec. make u build muscle any faster (it'll help), but it will def help you retain it lol....

What the hell are you eating? =P

I try to keep my protein under 60g per meal. 80g is a little too much for my body dimensions..

That one meal is 2 cans albacore tuna 1 potatoe and 1 cup broccoli. Actually, it's a few calories less than 80. 78 or something.

It's the meal before my pre workout meal. My meal before my workout is only 30 grams of protein. Should I put 1 can of tuna in that meal? That meal is 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1 cup kidney beans, and 1 cup nonfat milk.

I could be wrong, but I thought that I read somewhere that the human boday can only consume a certain amount of protein per hour.

You are correct, for my body dimensions (weight, height, age, etc..) I can consume around 45g protein per hour. However some foods that I eat come in specific sizes that I can't change easily, so they provide up to 60g of protein. So in the end some of it may be wasted, however I usually stick around the 45g mark for each of my meals...

Both of the posters are above are correct. However having a good supply of protein in your body while working out is not bad either. I think the point I was trying to make is I don't quiet see how this could harm your body... Just maybe a lil wasteful of the protein.

Where did you get the 45g number based on body dimensions? Is there a site for that? Thanks.
