    have you tried oblique exercises?

oblique crunches, side bends, twist crunches, etc.
here's some good ones to try:

here ya go, read this too, it's specifically for the "V" (scroll about 1/3 down the page)

im still not convined any oblique size will add to that "v"
external obliques stop at the hip, so that line would be the internal obliques i think (im rusty) and how you'd isolate that i dunno!

    Low bodyfat.
Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.

    Gain muscle. Then lose bodyfat.

I have never done oblique work, only direct ab work and I have a very visible "V". I think developing lower abs is the most important thing you can do for that.

all i do is crunches.. like i said, i really dunno if there's any specific exercise that targets or builds it up.. do some oblique raises e.t.c, you feel your obliques working sure but you never feel that V muscle at all, there's a special way to bring it out in the way you flex, i cant explain how though..
but as said, to get it to show more (i believe most people have it) you need lower bodyfat
