    Milk and raw whole eggs shake - ketosis achieving or not?

    Hey dudes,

    was wondering, a shake with 0,5L of milk (I guess that would be about half a pound) and 3 raw eggs would be a pretty good ketosis meal, OR does the carbohydrates in the milk in the form of lactose counteract ketosis?

    anyway, the shake consist of approx:

    41g protein
    30g fat
    25g lactose


    Nota Bene: I also read something somewhere about lactose being 'empty' calories, so its in effect no carbohydrate??

    Lactose is a sugar. It has an effect on insulin levels, though it doesn't exactly cause a spike. It will get you out of ketosis, especially when taking 25g of it at once.

    Talking

    The raw eggs will stop the absorbtion of most of the protein from that shake anyway.....so the major source of nutrients from it will be coming from carbs and fats.
