    Shadow Boxing for Cardio?

Is shadow boxing an acceptable excersise to do for a cardio day? Like 1 hour of shadow boxing in place of 45 minutes of jogging? And if so, how exactly do you shadow box, do you move your feet too? or just pretend your boxing an invisible opponent? I'd love to do it in place of cardio a few times a week (I have 6 cardio days a week) because running does get a bit repetitive to me. Thanks.

thats ok...but it would be so much better if u had a punching bag and gloves and boxed 12 - 3 minute rounds u would get a lot more benefit and build ur forearms
Muscle costs money, question is how big can you afford to be?

Yeah, I always wanted a punching bag, but I'm in $3000 debt to my parents as of now so I don't exactly have the money =/. So, shadow boxing can't really take the place of running as cardio huh?

Yes it can, just make sure you focus as much or more on footwork as you do on your hands.

I'm such a dummy, I just realized the gym that I go to has a room with a punching bag and gloves as well. NICE. I'm going to start tomorrow and see how those 12 three minute rounds go. How much rest should I take in between rounds?

    60 sec.

12 rounds might not be feasible to start out with; professional boxers start out with 4 rounds, and amateurs do only 3.
