Whey - How long will it last?
If I buy a 1 kg bottle with whey, how long will it last?
I need to take about 140 grams a day, does that mean it will last only a week?
If that's true it's going to be hella expensive to buy a new bottle every week.

140 grams of what? Protein from the whey?
If that's what you mean, then use food not just the whey.

Get a 6 pound tub. They are less expensive weight wise. How many shakes are you eating daily?

Not long at all, but more importantly, why are you taking in 140g of protein from shakes? You should always try to get most of your daily protein in take from food sources...try adding some cans of tuna in your diet instead of so much protein sourced from supplementing.

get a 10 pound bag of ON Whey, 160 servings, will last you almost 2 months assuming you take 3 scoops a day, which i think the rest of the protein you need should be from food.

Try to get less than 50 grams per day from shakes.

140g of whey a day? Clearly sometihng wrong there. You should limit your whey intake to 2 or 3 servings a day. They are good early in the day and post workout but other than that you shouldn't look past good whoelsome solid food.
A standard serving is 20-25g of protein (in the powder) so you having 7 servings is a bit much.

you need at least one gram of protein per pound of body weight. you should probably only take one or two servings a day and get the rest of your protein from food.

I weigh 188lbs. I get 120 grams of protein from shakes (3 a day). I get another 150 grams from food. That means I get 270 grams of protein a day. I don't think there's anything at all wrong with that.
I work 12 hour days and its HARD to eat solid food all the time. Granted, all of your protein shouldn't come from supplements, but to say you should only get 50 grams a day from shakes is silly. Who made those rules?
My diet looks like this :-
6am Meal 1
6 eggs (35 grams protein)
2 peices wholemeal bread
Banana
9am Meal 2
3 scoops maltodextrin
1 serving whey protein (20grams protein)
11am Meal 3
Tuna salad sandwich (wholemeal bread) (25 grams protein)
Apple
2pm Meal 4
Salmon salad Sandwich (wholmeal bread) (35 grams protein)
Banana
5pm Meal 5
3 Scoops maltodextrin
2 Servings whey protein (40 grams protein)
2 oatibix
7:30pm Meal 6
3 Scoops maltodextrin
2 servings whey protein (40 grams protein)
2 peices wholmeal toast
9pm Meal 7
Steak (40 grams protein)
Brown Rice
Broccoli
10:30 Meal 8
1 serving whey protein (20grams protein)
Cottage cheese (20grams protein)
I think thats a sensible use of supplements, they help me fill a gap when I can't get any real food in, but as you can see my diet is still full of good nutritious food.
