How Do You Handle Cheat Meals?
Do you do an entire cheat day or just 1 meal?
Do you make the 1 meal humongous or do you have a couple smaller cheat meals during the week?
Do you go long periods without cheating and then suddenly go ballistic?

It depends really.
If I feel like eating a lot of junk on that day, I'll cheat the whole day. However, if I just feel like eating one big ass cheat meal, that'll do too.
Its usually the latter though.

I'm strict, but not super strict. I'll enjoy myself at a restaurant, given the opportunity. I say "a couple small cheats a week."

i usually go out to eat for a burger and wings a couple times a week. I wouldn't rly consider that cheating tho just not the best choice. i dont eat iced cream or cake or anything ever. My real cheat meals involve me seeing a bag of doritos and then eating the entire bag

On cheat days I'll wake up and have a milk + whey + oats shake, then wait 4-5 hours and have the cheat meal (usually 1500cal+) then have caesin shake before bed. That's once a week every week.

how long has it been since you've cheated?
i went for a year of eating around 1200 calories a day (2002-2003). i was down to 133 at my lightest. after that, i suddenly broke and developed a humongous appetite, and it's only been within the past year -- actually, since i started lifting -- that i've settled down.
i have cheat meals so that i don't completely break down one day and ruin my diet for months.

I will eat clean for about a month then I will cheat and eat about 2/3 cheat meals in a week because the craving builds up then go back to eating clean and repeat.
For cheat meals I like to really go for taste and ALWAYS make sure I eat till I'm totally full up. Usually its indian spicy food, love it!

It's been a very long time. My doctor put me on a super strict diet (to help me heal from my accident) and my idea of cheating is eating Sun Chips, which my doctor says can be a part of my everyday menu. I guess with my situation, it has nothing to do with vanity, it's all about healing my neck and back.
With that said, I don't limit my calories or anything like that. I take in about 2,500 calories of quality food everyday (steak, rice, chicken, broccoli, yogurt, kiwi etc), but if I can eat more, I will.

i usually have one cheat meal a week. on that day, i may also go not as clean. like a brownie between meals. sometimes i have several cheat meals a week, usually if its a friend gathering.
i have a question tho, does spike ur metabolism mean to make it go faster to burn fat better, or slower to build more muscle?

bump to my question, and yea i know how u meant it lol. like you don't need to get 2500 calories per day, u just aim for that calorie range, like + or -100 calories

1 cheat day...a month
Every two weeks I have a clean carb up, and if I'm not carbing up, I have a day of not having to count, but it's clean keto food and very filling so I don't eat a huge amount. But they don't take the place of a cheat. *sigh*

Eating what your body can digest and assimilate will help you both burn fat and add muscle. It's tough to "bulk" like that, but you only gain what you want that way.
Does that answer your question?

i agree, you should bulk slowly, not pile on fat with the muscle and then try to lose 10 - 15 lbs. unless you're on steroids.
