nutrition & exercise journal
Anyone use a good nutrition & exercise journal?
Something small-ish & portable.
Preferrably spill-proof, spiral bound, with a small pen/pencil attached.
Where you could track your meals (calories, fat, carbs, etc) on one page and then your fitness routine on the other.
Then, maybe each section (week/month?) starts off with goals and ends with body part measurements (and weight, bodyfat, feeling, etc).
The ones I've seen so far are either too large (friggin' diaries with daily notes and motivation, along with exercise guidelines and chapters on success), or they're either heavy on nutrition or heavy on fitness and not equal on both.
Ya know - they'll have space for every set/rep of your routine, but the only dietary info they'll track is a tiny space for total caloric intake.
Or in reverse, they'll have space for the breakdown of fat/carbs/protein of each item in your meal, but there will only be a single line for your work-out routine ("60min cardio").
Any help appreciated,
cra2

Make your own using Excel or Publisher and take it to Kinko's. They can bind it for you. Most people on here probably use fitday.com.

So you want a journal...
I'll make you a snazzy one. I do some random computer things. Just tell me what you want in it and I'll have it set to be bound in something 5" by 7" That should be small enough to bring anywhere, but large enough that you don't have to write so small you can't see it.
Anyone have other ideas on this? If you do let me know and I'll make a supa fine journal that people can download from one of my websites.

How about that downloadable journal?! I'd love to see whatcha got, I have been searching for a journal for some time now. Just something with a place for the date, excersise, sets, reps, and weights. I have no idea how to use excel and what not. I do know how to click and download.
Incredible transformation by the way. Well done. Thanks in advance.

If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, you could try this:
Fit Phone
You can setup your workouts and then enter the results for them. It stores everything in your phone. You can email yourself all your results as well so that you don't have to worry about losing the data on your phone.

I found an awesome fitness/nutrition log and journal book online for $12 from myfit.ca. I LOVE it! It is spiral bound and small enough to take anywhere. It's a smaller size of what personal trainers use. I'm hoping I'm on the right track with this one...
