Basically to obtain the V-taper you have a wide back and a small waist. Any back excercises should work, bent over barbell rows, dumbell rows, lat pulldowns etc. oh and of course minimal fat around the waist

Broad shoulders (side lateral raises). Wide back (lats [pullups/chinups]). Smaller waist (genetics/diet)

Very little if anything to do with a V-taper shape. It's all about the shoulders/back/waist. Though big chest+small waist will help accentuate it from the front.

Chins and lateral pulldows are your best bet. Use a wide grip

dont do pulldowns. they do basically nothing for your v taper imo. do heavy pullups. strap weight onto yourself. hit the bent rows. they'll help too. dont forget the rear delts either. hit em hard with light weight.

Damn, serious V-taper going on in that profile pic. Wish I had that waist hehe..
What would be the advantages of going light on the rear delts?

i turned my rear delts from being a weak point to them being bigger then my front delts in just a few months by doing one armed laterals lying on a bench. 20 reps is what i used. many times i can only get 15 but still cheat 5 more in. they blew up pretty quick. i guess i should get new pics cause my avatar is old but i havent gotten around to it lol.
