    Hungry Man tv dinners

Hi, I'm starting a 2000-2100 calorie diet. I need to start eating high in calorie meals. So I figure hungry-man will help. But I have two questions. Will the fat content in the meals make me fat(sat fat)? I'm going to be building muscle and my goal is to lose body fat. And second, I noticed on the box it says "1lb of food." It won't literally make me gain an extra pound will it?

It's also got a lot of fat, are most of the fats in the meal healthy fats?

1 of them would be half your caloric intake for the day.

They are not healthy fats, and probably contain trans fats.

    bad choice.

I know trans fats are bad for you. Just didn't know it contained them.

more than likely, if the ingredient list says hydrogenated oil they have them.

further more...why do you need to start consuming high calorie meals if your only eating 2100 calories?

Some of those Hungry man meals have upwards of 1200 calories, that would be over half of your calories in one meal. 2000-2100 calories doesn't require high calorie meals, and at your weight you should maybe eat more than that if you're looking to put on muscle.

Go buy yourself 5-10lb of skinned/boned chicken breast, Some potatoes, some gravy mix, and a cook book.

While you are at it throw in some oat meal, some steaks, lean ground beef, tuna, whole wheat bread, Milk, Brown Rice, eggs, Some pasta, some sauces & condiments, grapefruit, cottage cheese, some apples, A good multivitamin, and what ever kind of cheat or candy you want for snacks.

Live off of that for about 2 months and you will be looking pretty good. Obviously you dont have to start being a health nut all at once. It is best to develop at your own pace so you do not get burned out on eating healthy and lifting. But Starting at "hungry man" is NOT the road to accomplishment.

I thought I seen some hungry man meals around 500-600. I was just wondering if I could eat these for breakfast or lunch. But I guess not. I think I will do that(buy a cook book). I really have no idea what to make when it comes to food. Thanks.

Smile Hungry Man Nutrition Facts . . .

After reading this thread I started wondering just how bad these dinners rly were, so I found this website that has nutrition facts all the Swanson frozen meals:

    http://www.calorie-count.com/calorie...urer/1236.html

Actually, they weren't as bad as I was expecting, but still far from healthy eating IMO. Here r a couple of Hungry Man examples:

Hungry Man White Meat Fried Chicken Dinner:

    710 calories
    29g fat (7g saturated)
    86g carbs (30g sugars)
    34g protein
    6g fiber
    2160 mg sodium

    Hungry Man Meatloaf Dinner

    680 calories
    37g fat (1g saturated)
    61 g carbs (29g sugars)
    29g protein
    5g fiber
    990 mg sodium

By way of comparison, both of these examples have over twice the calories and 4 times the fat content of a typical Healthy Choice frozen meal, which is what I eat in a pinch when I don't have any home-cooked food.

if ur 220 lbs and going to be taking in 2100 calories a day u said u were trying to get bigger.. ur going to be going the other way taking in that many calories

    any word of advice..

anything frozen TV dinner = STAY AWAY FROM

go to sams/costco and buy up in bulk.. eggs, chicken, milk, tuna, oatmeal, whole wheat breads, veggies, fruits, peanut butter, almonds, olive oil

and make ur own meals.. 100x better for you and they will be a lot better in taste then anything like a hungryman dinner.. u will get some terrible trans fats and HFCS from those TV dinners

words of advice: dont go buy frozen TV dinners from the store anymore those are for people who cant move off their couch and have to have their broke ass wife bring it to them because they cant seem to find their face out of the potato chip bag

You don't need high calorie meals if you're only taking in 2100 calories a day. You should be able to attain that no problem while eating clean healthy foods.

anything frozen TV dinner = STAY AWAY FROM

go to sams/costco and buy up in bulk.. eggs, chicken, milk, tuna, oatmeal, whole wheat breads, veggies, fruits, peanut butter, almonds, olive oil

and make ur own meals.. 100x better for you and they will be a lot better in taste then anything like a hungryman dinner.. u will get some terrible trans fats and HFCS from those TV dinners

words of advice: dont go buy frozen TV dinners from the store anymore those are for people who cant move off their couch and have to have their broke ass wife bring it to them because they cant seem to find their face out of the potato chip bag
what this guy said.... even they maybe labeled "healthy choice" or "lean cuisine" or "weight watchers" and be low in calories, the artificial chemicals in them are not worth it

Fareal. Clean bulks only work for people who have a lot of money and a lot of time. Dirty bulk won't hurt you as long as it's not lifelong thing.
