1st place my first time on stage!
I took first this past weekend at the ABA Alamo Classic. This was an all natural competition so I figured that I would have a good chance. Not only did I do well in the Novice division but I won! Was I the biggest? No! Was I the best poser? Heck no! But I sure was the most vascular! I normally walk around at about 175 and was shocked to find out that I weighed in at 161! And to make things even more exciting I did this all by myself! No personal trainer or any coaching. Just lots and lots of research on the internet! Thank you bodybuilding.com!

Awesome Job! You basically have my ideal body... it looks to me like you have great symetry. Congradulations.
What do you do for your abdominal training?

Thanks guys! I'm 5'9", the contest was in San Antonio, and I train my abs 3 times a week. One "heavy" day and two light days.

I have a high metabolism so I eat a bunch of crap during the off season. I just make sure that I take in plenty of protein and carbs. For my first contest I cleaned up my diet and eased up on the carbs a little. During the last week I carb depleted then carb loaded.

Yes, it sure is! And it's articles such as yours that helped me prepare for my competition. I thank you and "abdominator" for keeping me motivated.

Honestly for your body type you do have a good physique, you remind me of my friend... he has no shame he'll go to the beach with speedos on, but like I said his excuse is his physique and he's trying to show off for all the females.

Thanks man,
Very motivating. I'm planning the same thing for the fall. First competition, all natural, no coach, no trainer, no help....just me and the weights.
You looked great and hit those poses very well, you look like you were pretty comfortable up on stage....way to go!!
