In my experiences of meeting all kinds of people, (only 30 years worth) the people that start their criteria list with 2 or 3 physical attributes - are always the ones in the end alone, or, in completely broken relationships.
Aside from the obvious part of attraction that first makes you notice said individual, the ones in successful relationships were more open minded about what it is that defines a best fit for a partner.*US Navy Vet*

Everybody, man and woman, cares about height, to say otherwise is delusion IMHO. However you can work with/around it with relative ease even in deep manlet zone (source: I'm a 5'5" manlet) and I would guess that even semi-pathological shortness is not an ultimate deal breaker. Still, some particular things may be significantly more difficult to pull off (e.g. "slaying at the club"). Work around it or take it as a challenge.

Not as much as misc makes it. It is usually the super short girls that have the most hang ups about height, club rats that want a guy 5 inches taller than them in thier 5 inch heels, girls that are too easily influenced by friends/media. Girls around my height seen to be the coolest about it.

As long as you're taller than her it doesn't matter too much. However I feel like you'll never really be a "chad" or a true 9-10 if your not 6ft+.
