    How many calories?

    how many calories does one 15 minute session of HIIT burn during the exercise?

    for a 170 lb person

    just need a rough estimate for calculation

    so i can see if i need to train more or give myself 2 rest days on weekends

    My guess would be 300-400 during a HIIT session. From what I've read, your body continues to burn calories after you finish the session. How much? I have no idea, but definitely not that much. This link will give you more info:

    I just finished another HIIT session this morning and the machine showed about 320 calories burned in 20 minutes. How much you burn afterwards is tough to calculate.

    its probably harder running so maybe same calories in less time if u run i guess

    elyptical set on 10 out of 20. 20 minutes plus 3 for warmup. 30 seconds as hard as I can go (starts out around 95 rpm but by the end it is down to around 80), resting 30 seconds at around 40 rpm.

    Harder. Imo, a lot harder. I do a similar workout on the eliptical as the guy above (except I do 1min rounds). If I were to try that with running, I think I'd be way more exhausted. So, if you're going to run for 20 minutes, you could probably figure on burning more calories than on a machine. (But you need to run, not just pretend you're running.)
