Question peanut butter and banana pre workout food?

are there any negative aspects of eating a peanut butter and banana sandwich, four times a week, as a pre workout meal, besides the fact that i have to eat it in a college class and it makes me feel like a 7 year old. obviously on whole wheat.
its at least 18g protein, 34g carbs. i know there is a fair amount of fat in pb and bananas. this is more of a pre workout snack as i eat a real meal about an hour and a half before this.

The only negative would be the small amount of protein.

I thought you do not want fats pre-workout? I believe PB should be saved for meals PPWO and pre-bed. Somebody cue in and tell me if this is wrong..

I don't see a problem with fats pre-wo. Actually, I'm not using any carbs currently, so I use fats pre-wo every day.

fats may not be ideal.. but its more ideal to get a great lean protein source + some great complex carbs.. if you could bro.. make a nice chicken sandwich / turkey / tuna.. have a banana on the side on that WW berad.. thats a better choice.. if not go for a shake with it definately!

pre-workout i dont like fats because i workout 30-45 minutes after i take down my oats w/ blueberries + protein shake.. and it just doesnt settle well in my stomach

all in preference really.. i get my fats later in the day from my last 3 meals

incase you go back to the pb, you could mix the 1Tpb (like 8g fat tops) with 1 scoop of whey, add in like 1oz of water and mix untill it makes sludge--I took this recipe from the scivation guys.

Then spread that on to your sandwhich and enjoy. less fat and more protein. and easy to eat.

i disagree bodybuilding is essentially a lifestyle diet. there should always be wiggle room in your eating. although the pb and bananna sandwich may not be optimal, you have to realize it is still better than 90% of what most eat for breakfast and besides that it is a calorie dense energy source that will provide you with stamina and energy during the workout.

Fruits have fat too. And bananas aren't 100% fructose.

    you will never look back.

To the OP......I have that as my pre-workout, and I have enough energy.

As long as you are eating your meals before, after, and throughout the day, getting proper nutrients, it doesnt really matter what you have pre-workout, as long as you have enough to put in your stomach.

I wouldnt drink any sports drink, or anything like that though.

Bodybuilding is a marathon, not a sprint. Over time, after eating healthy, you are going to make gains, depending on which way you want to go.
