Quick Calorie Q

So if you're maintenance calories for the day were 2000
and you only ate 1000 calories, would you be burning 1000 calories + the exercise you do per day?

I know 1000 calories is too low, question is purely for knowledge

If your maint is 2000, You'd burn the 1000 cals you eat plus the equivalent of a 1000 cals from body energy sources (fat or muscle tissue).

If your BMR is 2000, then you'd burn the 1000 cals from your food and another 1000 cals + the cals needed from your exercies/activity from fat and muscle stores.
