Are you currently on a diet? Just eat healty vegies, low fat lean meats, low fat dairy, eat more meals 6-8 (a meal replacement bar{protien bar) but make them less food. Think of it like a locomotive. If you throw a bunch of coal on the fire the fire barley burns or goes out. If you dont put enough the train doesn't have the power output. The key is to add just enought through several increments a day to keep the fire (metabolism) burning hot all day. Also do weight training with cardio. Working your muscles and cardio rev up your metabolism and keeps you a fat burning machine. Circuit training is what I belive is great for overall fat burning. Like one exersice per body part for on giant supper set with some abs is perfect. 80% percent diet 20% work.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I think you will find everyone here friendly and helpful and on top of that most of us are going throuhh or have gone through what you are now so you are in good company.

The first and most difficult thing to do is take that first step of your journey. You have to look yourself in the mirror and say from this moment on you are going to live healthy and be healthy. Not diet!

Go to the grocery and find good clean healthy foods that taste good to you and count your calories and start walking and working out.

Even if it is just a small walk around your neighborhood. That is a step. It is burning cals.

If you are married and have a family at home do not let what they eat detour you of your goal of inner peace and happiness. Cook for them and then eat for yourself. Hopefully your hubby if you have one will adopt this lifestyle change as well.

Most of all develop patience and don't expect results over night. This is sept 10th....Nov 10th will be here eventually..no ifs ands or buts about it....so you and only you can decide how you want to look and feel when nov 10th arrives.

Eat healthy, be happy, exercise, feel great and enjoy life. The best is yet to come for you. Just start making right choices and things will fall into place.

Your avatar does not show that you are heavy. We are regular folks at our house. We make a weekly menu here. Sometimes the workouts get messed up or shortened with our kids, but the menu is always there. We know what we are going to eat every meal on everyday of the week.

It is easier to sit down Sunday morning and and write down that we are having tilapia on Thursday night, than it is to pick tilapia when everone makes it home. When we used to decide that night what was for supper......the pizza man would come to our house!

Diet and nutrition was the biggest part for me on losing and maintaing weight. Tracking what you put in your mouth is realy important. I use fitday.com for tracking what I eat.

Just some getting started tips! Welcome to this addictive place!
