yup! my supplementation is pretty standard. protein blend, ultra concentrated fish oil, greens powder, and cytogainer for post workout. the only recent change/exotic supplement i've decided to try using is anabolic pump. that stuff is pretty amazing! i've been able to jack up my carb intake considerably while staying farily lean.
i did try the spartan health program, and loved it, but the weight was not coming on at all. i got pretty lean, strong, and my endurance went up, but weight gain was not happening. however, i did transfer that knowledge about strength and conditioning to what i'm doing now (and some of the diet principles), and it's been going great!
i'm all about health and strength. if i were to try something that were to compromise my health, i would not do it. my blood pressure is low, my HDL is high, my LDL is low, my endurance is going up, immune system rocks, my skin cleared up a bunch, and to top it off, my strength and weight is increasing.
health is always important, and i will always keep pushing the physical envelope while keeping that in mind.
every program and regiment has its merits. take what is useful and reject what is not.

i think some of it had to do with glycogen. my carb intake was fairly low before and my pumps were little to non existent in the gym. i was getting stronger, but upping my carb intake filled me out pretty fast.
another thing i still follow is berardi's precision nutrition, and his massive eating plan in particular by following nutrient timing and massive calorie intake. i'm getting roughly 70-90 grams of fat per day and 300-400 grams of carbs per day specifically designed around activity level.

just take it slow man. focus on getting progressively stronger on compound lifts. each time you go into the gym, try and beat your previous workout either by using the exact same weights and doing slightly more reps, or keeping the reps the same and incresing the poundages. 2.5 lb plates are your best friends. keep eating, and you'll be at your goal eventually. it takes time, but i feel that the slower you put it on, the more you will keep in the long run. quality and not quantity. if you get to 200 too fast, chances are that you'll lose quite a bit of it pretty fast. i think this is why bodybuilders of the golden era still look pretty damn good today! larry scott's arms are still pretty big and he's in his 60's! but you also see modern retired pros that got small fast (ie kevin levrone, dorian yates, etc...). you see arnold and he's still pretty big! smaller than before, but still pretty big!

don't give up! like your sig says, getting there slowly. just stay consistent with it, and for you, focus on supplements that'll help meet your caloric needs. don't waste time on stims or preworkout powders (they'll actually raise your metabolism making it harder to gain weight!). focus on high calories. if you take protein shakes between your meals, do this: add 2 tablespoons of olive oil to about 50 grams of protein. 30 grams of healthy fats, that'll give you an easy 270 calories, without even trying that hard! do this for 2 shakes on top of your 3 healthy solid meals, and if you really need to, have another one before going to bed. if you add 6 tablespoons a day, that's an EASY 810 calories. just make sure that when you have these shakes, you don't have any carbs with it.

That's awesome man, i have the same principle when it comes to my own training and supplementation. It's got to be basics first and get as far as you can while being as HEALTHY as possible.
At the end of the day, IMO there's no point looking good on the outside if your body is falling to pieces inside.
