new AST MHC 750 – Muscle Protein Synthesis Accelerator

did anyone see this new supplement from AST !!

    http://www.ast-ss.com/Products/Produ...asp?ProdID=111

Accelerate the genetic transcription and synthesis of new muscle proteins safely, without drugs...

Activating muscle recovery, growth and strength starts at the molecular level. It’s all about igniting the correct biochemical pathways that accelerate the synthesis of muscle protein. The most important are the mRNA translation/transduction pathways that control the synthesis of muscle contractile proteins actin and myosin.

Myosin proteins are the thickest, most powerful myofilaments within the structural machinery of muscle contraction. On a molecular level they resemble those massive ropes used to moor the biggest ships in the harbor. Biochemists call them myosin heavy chain (MHC) proteins.

MHC 750 is a truly unique supplement, it is designed specifically to ignite the pathways that accelerate the synthesis of MHC but also directly prevent excessive breakdown of these proteins during intense training.

Every serving of MHC 750 contains a high dose of pure L-leucine; the amino acid is shown in research to be the most potent at stimulating muscle protein sythesis.1 Supplementation with L-leucine activates and accelerates the mechanisms responsible for the synthesis of contractile proteins.2 A high stimulation of protein synthesis is not only essential to muscle growth, it is the essential mechanism responsible for recovery and the regeneration of muscle tissue after exercise. Therefore, the ultra-high stimulation of protein synthesis that leucine provides is incredibly important to any athlete that is concerned with rapid recovery and better results from training.3

    The ignition of protein synthesis...

Leucine functions as a nutritional signaling molecule that directly stimulates an increase in muscle protein synthesis. It does this by hyperphosphoralating the 4E-BP1 and ribo****l S6K1 complexes in muscle cells to increases the activity and the synthesis of proteins involved in mRNA translation.2 Messenger RNA (mRNA) is the carrier of genetic information from DNA to the protein synthesizing organelles in muscle cells. What all this means is that supplementation with MHC 750 during intense weight training sends a powerful transcription signal to muscle cells to speed the manufacture of contractile proteins such as the MHC proteins.

Best of all, research shows that this powerful anabolic response can be obtained every time you take MHC 750. L-leucine’s potent anabolic effect is specific to muscle tissue,1 and unlike other amino acids, L-leucine by-passes liver degradation; supplementation is delivered to muscles in a dose-dependant manner!4 Unlike some other supplements, every dose of MHC 750 is delivered directly to your muscles and stimulates rapid protein synthesis.

A high stimulation of protein synthesis is one essential mechanism to the development of muscle mass; the other is a decreased rate of protein breakdown.5 MHC 750 not only contains the essential material to ignite muscle protein synthesis, this supplement also contains a high dose of a compound shown in scientific research to prevent the destruction of the MHC proteins during periods of intense metabolic stress.

Intense exercise is a metabolic stress that generates excessive production of free radicals. Excessive production of free radicals is shown in research to cause excessive breakdown of the MHC proteins.6 However, supplementation with N-acetyl-L-cysteine (NAC) is shown to be incredibly effective at preventing the destruction of the MHC proteins. NAC is one of very few nutritional compounds with scientific evidence of its ability to directly prevent the breakdown of the MHC proteins.6 NAC does this via the inhibition of the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway; the major pathway of muscle tissue catabolism (breakdown).6

The direct effect on muscle mass...

MHC 750 helps to accelerate lean mass gains by directly stimulating a high level of muscle protein synthesis and prevent excessive breakdown of this tissue during intense exercise. However, the components in MHC 750 also provide a positive effect on whole body protein metabolism that is shown in research to have a dramatic impact on body composition.

The high dose of NAC in MHC 750 is shown in research to provide an adequate supply of cysteine in the blood for the essential metabolism of cysteine by liver. An adequate supply of cysteine for metabolism within the liver is a necessary process that shifts whole body nitrogen disposal toward tissue synthesis (anabolism) and away from protein loss (catabolism).7

In clinical trails, supplementation is shown to meet this important metabolic process and provide a direct improvement in body composition during exercise – more muscle, less fat!8,9 The scientists that completed these studies concluded that cysteine concentrations within the body determine a person’s ability to gain muscle and lose fat during exercise training!8,9 The big question is, are you getting enough N-acetyl-L-cysteine in your diet to achieve your fitness goals?

The bottom line is that MHC 750 contains the indispensable components that enhance lean mass gains and improve body composition via three important mechanisms. The ingredients within MHC 750 stimulate a high level of protein synthesis and prevent excessive breakdown of contractile protein within the muscle, while also keeping whole body protein metabolism (via the liver) permanently shifted towards anabolism. The result is a bigger leaner physique that just keeps getting bigger and leaner!

How do I use MHC 750?

MHC 750 can be used to enhance the muscle-building potency of your favorite protein supplements such as VP2 Whey Isolate and Ny-Tro PRO-40. Taking MHC 750 with protein or other supplements such as DGC or Creatine HSC will not interfere with absorption of ingredients. However, MHC 750 will enhance the leucine and cysteine concentration of these supplements to maximize the anabolic response of a bodybuilding workout or accelerate recovery from endurance exercise.

For bodybuilders; Intense weight training stimulates a muscle-building response for up to 48 hours after every workout. MHC 750 can be taken alone or with your favorite protein supplement throughout the day and night to amplify this muscle-building response and speed the synthesis of new contractile proteins.

For endurance athletes; MHC 750 can be taken before, during and after the event or training with your favorite sports beverage to stimulate the cellular mechanisms that speed the recovery of muscle protein.

Would MHC 750 help me lose fat?

All the scientific research available suggests that MHC 750 would definitely help a person lose unwanted body fat. Recently research has identified the concentration of L-leucine and cysteine in the diet as a key factors to successful fat loss.4,8,9 Clinical trials and indirect evidence suggest that taking a cysteine/leucine-rich supplement such as MHC 750 will increase the concentration of L-leucine and cysteine in the diet to enhance fat loss and preserve lean body mass as well as help stabilize blood glucose levels.4,8,9 Steady blood glucose levels helps to eliminate hunger pangs and make dieting much easier.

    Cool

That's it? NAC combined with L-Leucine? So this is AST's only "new" supplement release in years? They used to be beautiful, man.

This is sad. AST used to be THE industry innovator.

They're now actually so steeped in "science" they're going backwards. Candy coated creatine, whey protein and amino acids.

    Been there, Done that.

Haven't I been advocating this as common-sense supplementation for months?

Delia needs to step down or sell AST to someone that's willing to take some market risk. Paying top dollar for dressed up basics isn't a sound business strategy.

Probably why they went Chapter 11..

With AST you have to read the write ups 4X to see what they are talking about. Not that much fluff but a lot of saying "we use water and ice" 40 different ways.

Anyway you just hope they return to the glory days of Dymetadrine 25 but those days are gone, but they do still have a nice joint product and cool labels.

I will read the write up 3 more times later. They do have a "EAS" type of research staff so the products at least are not pulled out of their ass, they are just not as cutting edge and they need to be to stand out.

Isn't it like 1g of Leucine with just a tad of NAC? What a worthless POS. VERY cost ineffective. Buy some bulk Leucine at true protein- it's cheap as heck. I, too, thought AST was a good company, but it seems as though they're capitalist pigs that don't really care about the customer. Oh well
On top of my game, and it don't stop til my hip don't hop anymore.

I know this supplement is a f*cking scam. Not because taking NAC or Leucine is a problem but because of the way it is hyped.

I have been using and advocating to my clients the use of NAC for over 10 years now. The stuff is just great and should be used at around 2 grams per day in divided doses.

As for taking a gram or two of Leucine with shakes as they recommend, I would prefer to use 5g or more of BCAA's at a 2:1:1 ratio with each shake instead.
