This EAS Creatine instruction is wrong?
Ok guys, I just bought this EAS Strength Series Creatine Plus. On the back it says: "Recommended Use: As a dietary supplement, mix 1 scoop or 4 tablespoons (43g) with 6-8 oz of cold water or juice. Drink 4 servings daily for 5 days, then maintain at 1 to 2 servings daily"
Does that mean I have to drink 43g x 4 = 172g creatine per day for the first 5 days??? It just seems too much for me (after reading other threads)
Do I have to drink on the days I dont work out (i work out 3 times a week)? If yes, same amount?
Thanks alot!

it's prolly one of dem der fancy "Transports"
ie 5g of creatine, 38g of dextrose per a serve. look for killer ingredients like "EAS' patented Dextrosian ANABOLIC(TM) Matrix".
what they're recommending is a loading phase, and it's just a gimmick that companies try to pass to get you to use more of there product.
find out how many grams of creatine there are per a serve and have about 10g or so a day, no need to load.
ALSO, since you probably bought a transport I'd suggest you mix your creatine with some whey and have it solely post-workout as opposed to a useless insulin spike at any other time of the day.
and yes on non-workout days I guess you can take it - probably best taken with your first meal.

Actually, a loading phase is not just a gimmick and if the supplement companies were recommending what you are recommending they would make more money.
The point of the loading phase is to saturate your muscles with creatine, without supplementation you have ~3.5g of creatine/lb of muscle weight, your muscles can carry ~5g of creatine/lb of muscle weight, by loading you saturate your muscles and then you ingest enough to maintain the high level of creatine.
It is not needed to load though, your muscles will become saturated eventually either way if you just do the maintnance dose of 5g a day, more than that is a waste though, your body excretes 1-2g of creatine a day (from the muscles) so 5g is plenty.

1) Eas creatine is overpriced
2) Loading is optional
3) Cycling is optional

Loading is defintely not needed as new research shows... and you will waste more by loading. The more you take, the more you'll piss out... no need to get scientific about it because it's that simple. Similar to vitamin c and other water soluble vitamins.
Even the supplement mags are now suggesting lower doses ie. 2-3gm before and after workouts... and not needed on off days.
This will help you get the most out of your creatine and reduce extra burden on your kidneys.
Trust me, just do a search on some of the newer research... you don't need to load.
I think you can find EAS Phospagen for a great price if you look also.

1. Loading is optional, it does work though.
2. Not ingesting creatine on off days might save you a couple of dollars in a year but ingesting creatine every day keeps your muscles saturated at all times, it's up to you what is "needed" and what you are willing to pay for.
EAS Phosphagen is overpriced even when you find the lowest price on it.

Oh, I just look at the ingredients again, you guys are right. There's only 5g of creatine per serving. So even during the overload phase, I'd consume only 20g of creatine.
I bought this EAS Creatine 1.9lbs for 15usd, good deal?
