How old to own a gun?
Anyone know the laws in TX as far as guns? Have to be a certain age or something?

I think most anything goes but I do know there are some regulations. I was looking into getting an M4 but I can't find any fully auto military spec versions. You may be able to I just don't know where.

I know you can buy tons of variations (none auto) at bushmasters website. I saw a segment on 60 minutes about a guy who bought hundreds of barrett .50 cal rifles in the US and sent them to the KLA. Dont think you can buy 'em in Cali anymore.

I am almost certain it's against federal law to have a fully auto gun. That might be what your problem is...

yes the AWB went away.
I own a civilian model m4. Good luck getting your class 3 weapons permit to get a full auto weapon. teh BATF gives out very few of these per year. also select fire weapons are normaly in the $10k + range

I think thats the closest thing your going to be able to get while staying legal. You could knock off a couple mom n pop stores and have enough firepower to fend off the cops with that baby

I do know that with AK models, not sure if it's 47 or 74, but you can buy the semi-automatic civilian versions, but you can find the automatic conversion kits elsewhere to make it full auto.

Fully automatic is illegal withought the proper licensing. It takes a class 2 weapons permit to own a fully automatic. Tru you can convert but it is not realiable and also higly illegal. You can lose your rights to own a firearm at all if caught with a full auto. Bushmater is a great company. Check out the Carbon-15. it is a carbon fiber, composite AR-15. Weights next to nothing. badass weapon..

I thought class 2 was to own a silencer and class 3 was for full auto. also it takes something like 20 weeks to get approved for this. and if you get busted with it its a federal weapons violation. which i think is 10years in the pen

21.
that is a touchy case. more or less unless somebody pulls a gun on you and puts your life in danger you will go to jail if you shoot them. A guy i work with spent 3 years in the pen because some guy pulled a knife on him and he shot him dead.

If YOUR life is on the line then you have the right to shoot him. You will go to the supreme court to discuss what happened and then they will dismiss it or whatever. If someone starts punching you in the face you can't shoot them. The only reason you would be in this situation would be if you ABSOLUTELY could not get away(this is really up to judge and you will probably get punished). If you want to shoot someone and not kill them you should for the waist under but if they are holding a gun then you wan't to shoot them in the right shoulder. If your shot in the right shoulder you could only die of lack of blood. If someone breaks into your house and they are threatning you and wont leave....you can shoot to kill.

Yeah I figured fully autos are illegal. Semi-auto is fine since I don't plan on starting a war or something just think it would be cool though. Are the bushmasters pretty much military grade except for rate of fire?

There is a $200 tax you have to pay to buy a full auto. They are 100% legal to own. Just REALLY expensive so not many folks have them.

I was going to say something about that but didn't. Most likely depending on what he did it should be thrown out. They are cracking down on stupid **** in courts I think.....like mcdonalds thing. Someone breaks into your convienent store and robs your....you give him the money.....he runs out.....you shoot him in the leg......he turns around and sues you. In MOST situations if they try to sue it will be thrown out(considering you had a reason to shoot him as I listed in the previous post).
