What excercises are best to strengthen the lower back. I injured it a few months ago and now when ever i get done working out no matter what it is my lower back is always sore after wards. Any suggestions?

Roman deadlift, hyperextenisons, deadlift, swimmer, and reverse crunches. <- In that order. Good luck.

Until you get it stronger, I'd start with supermans, birddogs, and light high rep pull throughs. Dedicate time in two work outs a week for these exercises for a month THEN start on hypers, Good Mornings, stiff-legged (roman) deadlifts and squats. Build your lower back slow and steady and you can become a rock. Don't forget balance, are your abs over or under developed? The state of your abdominal chain has a lot to do with how your lower back performs and feels.

Don't forget the the back works in conjunction with the 'posterior chain'. Develop glutes and hammies around your back exercises. Unfortunately lower back is NOT a 'gut it out' area. Be smart, work up to the bigger moves, stay steady with its training and understand how it works with it's neighbors (glutes, hammies, abs) and work them in conjunction. You'll do well.

    Best,
    B

Bodybuilding is 60% training and 50% diet. Yes that adds up to 110%, because that's what you should be giving it. Change the inside, and the physique will follow.
