depends on your bodyweight & how much lean mass you have...
complex carbs (starchy carbs) and sugars should be completely eliminated except during breakfast and post-workout... just consume veggies throughout the day... but the amount depends on your stats...
thank you for responding. i weight 200 pounds, im trying to get down to around 180 pounds. what exactly is ketosis? im a novice bodybuilder. also what type of carbs are veggie? for some i thought they were complex carbs, i guess im wrong, like i said im just a beginner. i just can seem to get rid of this gut. i try to watch what i eat, i do cardio 4 days a week along with lifting 5 days a week. my body fat has gone down quit a bit, you can see a very little bit of ab definition now but im not happy still. i figuered i should watch my carbs and see if it helps.
Ketosis is the process where ketones (a byproduct of fat metabolism that occurs in the absence of carbohydrates) are present in the blood and excreted in the urine and breath.
You don't need to be in ketosis to lose fat. You probably will have success by eating moderate carbohydrates...but if not, then it is a reasonable time to consider a keto diet.
carbs form veggies (vegetables) are complex but also fiberous carbs... much better than breads and pastas which should be cut out if you are trying to lose fat... a sandwich per day is fine... just stick to about 120-160 grams of carbs per day and at about 2000 calories or just a little less per day...
