my gym buddy is a muslim guy, and since ramadan is coming up he'll be fasting, and isnt sure what he'll be doing since its his first ramadan fasting since he took up lifting. I'm probably gonna fast with him a couple of days to try it out. so what should we/he do? continue lifting? lift while fasting, or after breaking his fast?

I do not believe that it will be dangerous to his health.
His lifts WILL go down, due to him fasting, (starving yourself does that).
He will be more tired, (see above)
Probably the only thing you have to worry about is not pushing to hard, your body won't be able to recover as fast due to the imporper nutrition.
(AFAIK)
