anybody own this barbell for oly training?

Ive got a crappy bar from a 300 pound weight set I got from Dicks Sporting Goods and the more and more I do oly lifts like cleans the more I want a better bar... the nut in the middle of the sleeve keeps coming loose and I have to screw it back down... so I am looking at a GOOD, CHEAP alternative

I do NOT have $600 to spend on a good competition bar like ivanko or $400 to spend on a pendlay bar

Anyone know anything about this bar?
    http://store.wfwclub.com/crossfitbar.html

Also, I don't have a platform... but I do have a huge wood panel with the puzzle piece mats u can get from walmart etc, seeing as how I live in an apartment I think if I started dropping weights all the time it would be extremely loud even though I am on the bottom floor

however, if you think I should get bumper plates to use with the bar, even if I cant completely drop it, do you think I should?
and if I don't get bumper plates, will regular oly plates mess up the good oly bar? I don't want it to get scratched from the concrete, etc.

I just bought one of these bars about a month ago. It is awesome. I had the same crappy sporting goods store bars that would come loose and they were scary to use. This bar is fantastic. It is super high quality and will obviously last me a long, long time. I drop it all the time with full confidence now.

You might want to consider some bumpers from the same site. I got a pair of 25 lbs and a pair of 35 lbs and they work great for just about everything. You can add your regular olympic weights on to them and it works great.

I don't have a platform but have some rubber mats like you have and I drop some of the lighter weights on them like If I am warming up for the snatch.

This is Glenn Pendlay's site so if you know anything about weightlifting you have probably heard of him. He is 100% trustworthy and the shipping is really fast. Hopefully this helps.

I have one too. I have no complaints with it.

If you use metal plates with a bar and drop it, you will damgage the bar, eventually.

I lol'd at this though, "Also available as a 15kg, 25mm shaft diameter Womens bar."
Any woman serious about lifting is not going to want a lighter, smaller bar!!

Actually the IWF mandates a lighter bar for women, so if you want to lift in a weightlifting competition, you will have to use one.

Many women in the lower classes have much smaller hand sizes.

The bar is lighter to accomadate a women's average hand span, not because women are perceived to be weaker.

Plus, as most women dont have an arm span as wide as the heavy mens, the bar is shortened as well as thinned to make it easier to balance.

The ossilation on these things is great though!
