Vick (again) and dogfighting (again)

I find this interesting on two levels: 1) that it's such a big deal 2) that dogfighting is apparently so common.

Now hey, I like dogs and all, but do most of you share the same disgust that I've heard in the media over what Vick did? Personally, I think it's cruel and a ****ty thing to do but the possibility of spending years in prison over it does seem a little harsh to me.

And dogfighting? I never even heard of this happening in the States (or anywhere else) before this all came out. To listen to reports it's very common in the States and most are aware it's going on. Is it really that common? And if so, that brings us back to the first point, is it really such a big deal then?

It would be a little harsh if he just had them fight,but that sick sack of **** drowned,strangled and brutaly killed the ones that wouldnt fight with his bear hands.That man is sick in the head and is going to be the prisons new blowup doll.

Good point.

I knew that he had some of these dogs killed but I didn't know he actually did it himself and in such brutal ways.

Now again though, is dogfighting very common and open or is the media wrong on that?

Look at it like this people get married every day but if a celeb gets married it hits the media and its a big deal ....sooo even if Dog fighting is common.... if a celeb gets caught doing it its gonna be a big deal

another thing to consider is Vick isnt in trouble for having a couple pits in
his backyard and letting them go at it... there are Gambling issues , issues about how he killed or had the dogs killed , and something mentioned about interstate or state to state violations (im not sure on this one)

its common and everywhere. lots of people just dont realize it because they follow foxnews.

lol... i just dont like foxnews though i watch it for fun. I think its funny how the news was crazy about saving those dogs before but now it seems they have forgotten about them. gotta love the media
