I searched and it doesn't say what it's for or what it does.
Also, are glutamine and L-glutamine the same thing?

from my understanding, it helps your muscle absorb as much protein as possible while it is in recovery mode. Best if used 30 minutes after strength training, and then again a couple of hours later. I put mine in with my post workout whey shake.

The L in L-Glutamine stands for Levo which come from the latin word "laevus" which translates as "left". Levrotation is when a molecule turns/twists to the left.
Because amino acids utilised by the body are all left handed, these are most readily used. As opposed to Dextro molecules which are right handed.
If its not specified it may be a combination of the two. (I think, please correct me if im wrong)Last edited by Jams; 03-29-2005 at 11:30 PM.

My understanding is that the same "things" that contribue to creatine uptake in the body also contribute to glutamine uptake, and you don't want creatine and glutamine competing for absorption, so it has been suggested to keep at least and hour between when you consume creatine and when you consume glutamine. Whew. What a run-on sentence. :P
As for whether you take one pre-workout and the other post, creatine doesn't matter. Glutamine is a recovery supplement so naturally during or after your workout would be logical.Last edited by taylorsj; 03-30-2005 at 04:21 PM.

I used to take glutamine before I started taking NO Xplode, which says that you shouldn't take in more than 10 G of glutamine per day to maximize NO Xplode's effects. I honestly didn't notice a 'decrease' in gains, or anything of the sort. Stick with a good whey and creatine supp., and you'll be getting all the glutamine you need. Just my $.02.

Muscle tissue tearing aka minor damage and breakdown are two different things. When you workout, the stress you put on your muscles causes tiny tears in the muscle fibers. As the muscle fibers recover, the tears heal up forming scar tissue, thus larger muscles. Correct me if I'm wrong guys.
Muscle breakdown is when your body needs protein for one process or another and can't find it elsewhere, so it breaks down your muscle tissue to get the protein back that was used to build it."Before you criticize someone walk a mile in their shoes, that way when you do criticize them you're a mile away and you have their shoes." - unknown
