What are some good exercises to target the back muscles?

I already do deadlifts and shrugs (and occasionally bent-over rows), but I don't feel like I'm giving them enough work. I also feel like I have a hard time targeting my back specifically without involving many other muscles. What are some of the best exercises to do?

That's one of the problems...I don't have or have access to a machine that you can do pushdowns/pulldowns on.

Do more and heavier deadlifts and pull ups. For the lower back try doing some goodmornings.

Best exercise for developing the lats in the back is easily chin ups. Do more and more. Then do some more. Then when you can't do anymore, do more. Eventually you will be able to do weighted chins. These really widen your lats and will give you the body builder V look. Its awesome. Pump the Sh!t up baby!

The real question is, are you? Or do you believe that tomorrow will come and bring the motivation with it? Yeah well while you are waiting for tomorrow, I will be doing heavy squats and deads today to turn pro while you are watching me do so on TV."
