My cut continues...some Before/After shots
Hey guys, I'm sure not many remember my threads of the past. This is the first time I ever attempted to lose weight in probably my entire life. I played football most of my life...The 2 years I played in college I was a fullback at 5'11'' 225lbs. However during the last season of 06 I suffered a serious concussion and now no longer play football. So knowing I would never play football again I decided to lose the excess fat I always carried around. I began this cut back in the beginning of May. I experimented with different diets and began serious cardio, I still run 3-5 miles every other day.
Today, 5 months since I began, I have lost around 30lbs as my weight currently fluctuates day to day between 191 and 194.
I was also wondering maybe if anyone could estimate my current body fat???
Thanks

Looks good. You seem pretty massive. But i would put on even more muscle before cutting. Good luck with what ever you decide to do

good work, you managed to maintain alot of your muscle it looks like. Did you do low carb or no carb by any chance?
p.s i'de say your current bodyfat is around 15% or so, do a caliper test and get a more accurate figure.

Well I started the cut when I found a diet back in May from an old issue of Muscle & Fitness and motivated me. I liked it so much because it gave a variety of different groups of food and told you when to eat those foods throughout the course of the week. It also broke down into 5 smaller meals a day. So for example on Training Days it told you to have 3 servings of carbs. So I would have a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast around 8am, then some cottage cheese around 10am then around Noon for lunch I'd have a pasta salad with some turkey in it and some fat free Italian dressing. Around 3pm I'd have a rice cake or two, and for dinner around 6pm I'd have a Turkey Burger on a whole wheat bun and a green veggie, which for me most of the time was green beans with some soy sauce on them. Then around 8pm I'd make a protein shake.
On the Non-Training days it would say to only consume one serving of carbs. So for breakfast I'd have my Oatmeal, then cottage cheese snack, for lunch I'd have a few cups of lettuce with turkey in it and some fat free italian dressing. Then it would say for afternoon snack have a protein shake. For dinner I would grill a breast of chicken and have the green veggies again.
That's basically how I ate thru May and June. When it came to July I had already dropped from 220ish to 200. Throughout July my diet wasn't as strict but I managed to drop a pound or two each week. And now beginning of September I am 190 in the AM no heavier than 194 by the PM.
So I guess you can say it was a success
