    proper deadlift breathing?

    what exactly is the PROPER way to breathe while doing (heavy) deadlifts?

    Start with a deep diaphragmatic breath at the bottom. Wait until you are about halfway up to start exhaling. Inhale on the way back down the same way. See http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/casi4.htm for more information.
