    Lower Back/Hip Injury

For the past 4-5 days my back hip bone area has been bothering me. The pain is progressively getting worse and it's difficult to walk without a limp. I went to my doctor today and he's making me get bloodwork and x-rays. He said that it is likely to be a stress fracture to my spine or pelvis. I'm totally bummed out because I'm just starting to make some nice progress with my bodybuilding and probably won't be able to do any physical activity for a while. I went to the gym today to do my shoulder exercise and I had to stop halfway through it because lifting the weights hurt so badly. Anyone ever have something like this before?

That's an odd area to have stress fractures, except for in elderly people.

You will probably have to lay off. If you are able to lift, go really light. Just enough to keep the muscle conditioned.

Yeah, he said it's not definetly a stress fracture (i have to wait until I get my xrays to find out), but from the evaluation he gave me, it seems like that's a likely possibility. He said if it's not that it could be some kind of tear with the muscles or tendons. I just hope I can get back to lifting and playing volleyball(high school team) as soon as possible.
