Thumbs up One leg donkey calf raises

I just wanted to say I have been doing these for the last few months, and my calves have thickened tremendously. I had never really taken donkey calf raises seriously until I saw posts by bigpump23 and various other members highly recommending them. The two legged version is fine, but for me at least, the stress is much more intense doing these one leg at a time.

I do mine at home bent over with a weighted dip belt and Mr. Fatman(my nephew) on my back. I keep my free leg folded behind the knee of the other leg.And all I can say is WOW for these. Very effective exercise. I do these along with jumping calf raises, toes in/toes out calf raises, and toe raises for my tibialis anterior(front of calf), along with barbell calf raises on a calf block for overall mass and a better stretch.

hey, could you explain these two really quick? Jumping calf raises sounds pretty self explanatory, but it would seem to me that you wouldn't use any resistance (just bodyweight?)

also, for the toe raises, what do you do to provide sufficient resistance to work the muscle?

    thanks

I do jumping calf raises with a barbell on my back. I do toe raises by putting a barbell on the floor that is weighted only on one side. Then using only my toes, I lift the weight stem of the weighted end up. Not much weight is need for this exercise, but it works the front of the calf nicely.

DD obviously you're a volume guy, but how much? I look at all the exercises you talk about and say "DAMN!" Is there a place where you have your routine posted? I'd really like to see it.

Also, if Defiant is reading this, what's his look like?

    What are donkey calf raises?

DD, how many sets and reps do you do of each of those exercises?

I usually do 2-3 sets of every exercise I do. I had been doing 6 reps a set, but I actually started shrinking, so now I kicked it up a notch, and went back to doing 9-10 reps a set. And the growth is coming along nicely.

2-3 sets an exercise, 9-10 reps a set.

Here is a pic of a typical donkey calf raise.

How many exercises a day? Do you do a single bodypart everyday or do you have a different split?
